Overview

From Breedlove guitars comes a series that is 100% true-red-white-and-blue American. The American series guitars are built in Bend, Oregon, using quality products made right in the USA”no parts or designs were shipped to other countries. These guitars represent the true American spirit, using quality parts and Breedlove's famous craftsmanship, producing instruments that will stand the test of time and look absolutely beautiful in the process.

Built on the popular dreadnought platform, the D25/SRe Herringbone Acoustic-Electric guitar's large top and body depth creates a resonant chamber that focuses on bass response and tremendous volume. This design is ideal for ensemble playing and is the instrument of choice for flat pick players.

The solid cedar top and rosewood back and sides offer a balanced midrange with lots of bold projection. The soft cutaway adds comfort for accessing the upper frets. The ebony fingerboard, and the one-piece mahogany neck produce rich clarity from note to note. The D25/SRe's 25-1/2" scale, 1-3/4" nut width, and 16" radius offer comfort for intricate finger movements, and the gloss finish adds a high-end shine. The bridge truss system stiffens bridge and relaxes soundboard to maximize sustain and resonate freely. Pinless, winged bridge and scalloped bracing artfully balances string-to-top energy. These design elements yield abundant overtones, complexity, body resonance and note-for-note swell ideal for creating natural effects, single note complexity, and orchestral chording.

At the heart of the D25/SRe is the L.R. Baggs Element Active VTC Pickups System, letting you amplify your guitar quickly and easily. The Element Active Volume and Tone control (VTC) pairs the Element under-saddle transducer with a pre-contoured all-discrete class-A endpin preamp, and includes a small, removable soundhole-mounted volume and tone control for added convenience and versatility. The entire system is designed to install easily and features plug-and-play performance.

All Breedlove Custom Shop steel-string guitars (except for the Revival Series), Pro Series and Atlas Series guitars use the JLD Bridge Truss system. This device is a cantilevered truss that helps to counterbalance string tension at the bridge, creating a relaxed top and improved structural integrity. This allows the tops to be braced in a very progressive way, with a focus on realizing the full acoustic potential of the top. A relaxed top provides maximal wavelength response and a synergy is created by use of a graduated top thickness, balanced scalloped bracing, and a pinless bridge in combination with the bridge truss system. This gives Breedlove guitars the distinctive and highly dynamic "Breedlove Sound", with a piano-like bass and a remarkably well-balanced tone suitable for a broad variety of musical styles.

Other appointments include ivoroid body binding with herringbone top purfling, Breedlove abalone rosette, single-action soundhole adjustable truss rod, ebony pinless "winged" bridge with J.L.D. bridge truss system, scalloped bracing, one-piece mahogany neck, Breedlove pearl dot position markers, ivoroid heel cap, asymmetrical Breedlove headstock with ebony overlay, and Gotoh 381 tuners.

The Breedlove American Series D25/SRe Acoustic Guitar includes the Breedlove lifetime warranty and a deluxe hardshell case, so you can keep your 6-string looking as gorgeous as the day you bought it. Make that day today and order now.

While Breedlove is known for making quality guitars always, whether Asian, or American, but this guitar is just exceptional. The action is great, the intonation is unbelievably close for a guitar that isn't fully handmade, and if you are picky about stuff like this, its fully manufactured and built in America, hence the American series. I'm always a fan of Breedlove, and this guitar absolutely doesn't fall short. The features are decent, but not the best for 1700 bucks, but the dreadnought shape gives it a great full low end, yet shimmering highs with some slightly better than good overtones. It feels great, its comfortable, if your considering it, you won't be disappointed.

This instrument is truly impressive. The workmanship is detailed, the back of the neck is extremely smooth, and the strings are really close to the frets but the item scratches very easily. I touched the item with a bottle of AXE and it peeled off. I did not even use any force, all I did was touch and at first contact the finish peeled. If you want a guitar that is for show than this is for you but if you want an instrument to play and show off you are much better off with something a bit cheaper. I regret not purchasing the warranty. I was skeptical but if you do end up buying this do not forgot to purchase a warranty because they replace it for any reason.

Love at first strum!

By Jack

from Vail, AZ

I went into the store with a $1200 budget in mind, thinking lower end Martin or Taylor. I picked this guitar up and fell in love! It blew away the sound, feel, and style of its higher priced buddies. The L. R. Baggs electronics are a great edition...no cutting a hole in the side of the guitar improves the sound, and the controls are simple and out of site. Everyone that has played my guitar has been shocked at the sound and feel. You can't go wrong with this guitar if you want a reliable sturdy acoustic on stage or around the campfire. It's worth going over your budget a bit!
