Played plugged in or acoustically, this bass will give you precise low end to fit all your musical scenarios.

The most affordable Breedlove acoustic bass, the Passport Bass features a fast-playing neck and easy playability due to a shorter scale length. This great sounding acoustic-electric bass goes beyond the design of typical acoustic basses – for one, it features the Breedlove Bridge Truss, which relieves stress on the instrument's top while providing additional sustain and balance. The Passport Active VTC pickup lets you be heard in any venue and a built-in chromatic tuner with backlit screen makes it easy to stay in tune. A 9-volt battery is easily accessed near the endpin area.

I've been playing bass professionally for 35 years but never owned an acoustic bass, so I did my research and decided to go for one. Equipped with the knowledge of the quality of Breedlove guitars, I played the others first. I spent the entire afternoon "auditioning" different acoustic basses. Ibanez, Washburn, Dean, Kala, Fender, Alvarez, blah blah. Not willing to spend 1500 bucks, I found and played the Breedlove Passport. It took all of 10 seconds to decide on my choice. Hands down, the craftsmanship, tone and feel/playability was far superior to any of the above mentioned basses - and quite a bargain at $500. I realize that this bass is crafted in Korea, so I meticulously went over it with an eagle eye searching for any indication of blemishes or defects in workmanship but found none. This bass is well-built with the feel and sound an acoustic bass should have. Unlike the Fender Kingman, the tone controls and built-in tuner are solid and immediately responsive. Thanks Breedlove, for making a quality acoustic bass that the regular guy can afford!
