Flanger on steroids

For me this was a too synthesized sound which robbed much of your tone. While it a ton of fun manipulating the knobs to experiment with sound, I still ended up returning it.

Best Tremolo

By Rustycan

from Detroit, MI

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

The vintage tone and styling of the TR-2 make it ideal for surf and indie rockers alike. With such an extensive depth, from blues to deep pulse, the expression is endless. No matter what you're tempo you can time it just right to add that little extra to any song. Don't even bother with anything else, the Boss TR-2 is the only pedal I will ever use or recomend for a real vintage tremolo.

Only the best!

By Todd

from Toledo, OH

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

This pedal can be used to create some amazing sounds if used right. Using this pedal along with the Boss MT-2 Metal Zone Effects Pedal can make some tunes that blow you away. You could also slow the rates down on the Tremolo effect to give it a slower style of music with an ear welcoming tone. This pedal overall is great, but is astonishing mixed with other Boss Effects Pedals.

Amazingly versatile little pedal.

By J-DUB

from Rockford, IL

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

In this simple to use and inexpensive pedal there are so many applications. I play hardcore and metal and throwing this into the mix makes for some seriously sick choppy effects. I would suggest this, the PS-2 Phase Shifter, and the CH-1 Super Chorus. With those all you need is a great wah (Morley Bad Horsie Original), a good tuner (Boss TU-2), a high gain all-tube amplifier and a good noise suppressor and you can do just about anything. Simple. Easy. Huge returns.

BOSS Tremelo

By rasdave

from currently indoors

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

Good tremelo if you like the effect and your amp didn't have it. Also nice for secondary trem setting with tremelo amp...surf music styles. Like the Fender Vibrolux Amp, the pedal can be some what noisy, ie signal interference is amplified by the pedal, as you would find with tubescreamer or similar distorition pedals, though you wouldn't notice in a band setting, or if engaged during play. Nice late 50's, early 60's sound, somewhat like a violin or viola when playing scales; depth and intensity turned to their respective max, sounds like air cav, which is coincidentaly why I bought the pedal. Good for calypso, jazz, lounge jungle music too. (velvet not electro). Some what different from the rocktron trem, which has a more parkinson's appeal

Solid

By cloudyeyetavern

from Springfield, MO

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

A durable pedal that does what it's supposed to. I mean, it's a tremolo effect so....you're probably not going to leave it on constantly, but it's there when you need it for that one song. Why the BOSS one? Well, I try to use BOSS for all of my random effects so I can connect them with the pedal coupler jacks without any asymmetry. It saves a lot of space for more pedals that way!

The Only Trem Pedal You Need

By Michael Brozovic

from San Diego via Detroit

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

Does exactly what it's supposed to. There is no perceived volume drop, tone loss or white noise. Great vintage tone. No need to spend $300 on some boutique pedal with a gazillion knobs to tweak out on. The Boss TR-2 does it's job and does it well. I Highly recommend this pedal to anyone looking for a tremolo pedal that can do vintage trem to super-choppy. Think of "Crimson And Clover" to "How Soon Is Now?" to "Germ-Free Adolescents". It does them all!

Just what I was looking for

By Fuzzball

from Ida, MI

Comments about Boss TR-2 Tremolo Pedal:

First off I must say that I love Boss effect processors and this is no exception. This pedal provides classic sounding tremolo. The wave, rate, and depth knobs help you tailor your effect to fit your needs. This unit is built Boss tough so it should handle the abuse of the road. One warning this pedal is a one trick pony, but it does its trick amazingly well.
