Meet the BOSS PS-6 Harmonist effects pedal, with four intelligent pitch-shift effects and three-voice harmony in one convenient unit. Among the effect modes are Harmony, Pitch Shifter, and Detune, plus the all-new Super Bend for authentic pedal-bending effects and wild 3- and 4-octave pitch sweeps. With the PS-6 Harmonist, you can even control pitch with an optional expression pedal.
The Harmony function is fast and simple to use, and supports a variety of interval patterns. It's easy to create rich, 3-voice harmonies: choose a major or minor key, and set the Shift to 3-VOICE-that's it! The PS-6 Harmonist is an unbeatable combination of superior sound quality, ease of use, and powerful pitch effects, all under one hood.
Higher Sound Quality
The BOSS PS-6 Harmonist is the new-generation pedal for harmony shifting. Sound quality has been improved dramatically thanks to its powerful DSP. With the PS-6, you can render complex harmony voicings beautifully, naturally, and easily.
3-Voice Harmony, Detune, and Pitch-Shift
The PS-6 Harmonist can generate 2 or 3 voices, such as direct/third/fifth, in each of the following modes: Pitch Shifter, Detune, and Harmony. This will add rich depth to your guitar sound. Detune broadens the sound in a natural way, as the PS-6 allows 3-voice detuning with slightly raised and lowered pitch added to the direct signal. Voices can also be pitch-shifted one octave up and a fifth below your note-great for arpeggio-style playing, for example.
This amazing effect bends pitch across a 7-octave span, from -3 to +4 octaves! Set the Rise and Fall time to your taste. You can control the bending effect in real time with the pedal's knob or from an external pedal such as Roland's EV-5 Expression Pedal (sold separately).
Manipulate a wide variety of effects using simple operations. In Harmony mode, for example, all you have to do is select the key, specify whether it's major or minor, and use the SHIFT knob to select the voicing you want to use. The Shift knob switches between the different pitch settings available in each mode.
BOSS compact pedals are world-famous for their great sound as well as their road-tough construction, consistency, and reliability. The PS-6 inherits this BOSS-proven design, offering guitarists a solidly constructed pedal that's built to withstand decades of demanding use.

I love this peddle, such fun and a joy to use.
Love this pedal! Does perfect for what I want. It will stay on my board for sure. I love all the options this pedal has. I was reading some of the reviews . I have to say mine works great with distortion. 5 stars BOSS!!!!
I gave it a try, but I didn't care for it. I had music in school so determining what key a song is played in isn't a problem. I just wasn't impressed with it. I returned it and picked up TC Electronics "Gravy Chorus" which I really like. Guitar Center was great with their customer service. They exchanged it no questions asked. It might be ok for someone else. The 3 part harmonies are ok. Just not a pedal I would use a lot to justify the expense.
This pedal is built tough, but when running off a battery, just like most pedals it can't be used for that long. It has to run through an effects loop or run in stereo to sound good, except for Super Bend mode. That is the best part of the pedal, because when the pedal is set in a certain way, it sounds very accurate to a dive bomb using a real guitar tremolo system. Detune mode can sound like chorus, and it won't change the volume like how some chorus pedals do when turned on. I gave this two stars because some of the settings in the mode sound very processed, and that goes for the pedal overall. This pedal shouldn't cost as much, because some of the features don't sound good. I just see use out of the Super Bend and Detune modes.
I'm still kinda amazed that this pedal only cost $150 because it's AMAZING!!!! The S-Bend feature lets you shift up and down up to three octaves, which is even better the Digitech Whammy. The harmonizer sounds sorta metallic, which is to be expected. Thats the only issue I have with this pedal. The Detune basically makes this a Chorus pedal. Pitch Shifter lets you drop tune or whatever without physically tuning. The controls are absurdly easy to use, unlike the PS-5. By the way, a little trick I found: if you turn the harmony to one octave down and twist the balance knob all the way to the right, you have an permanate octave pedal, which is awesome. The S-Bend feature alone is worth the money, but this pedal is basically a pitch shifter, chorus, octave, harmonizer, and whammy pedal all in one! Buy at least one cause you might need four to milk this baby for all she's worth!!!
Boss has come a long way since the HR-2. This unit tracks really well in the Pitch Shift mode. Sounds real similar to the PS-2, PS-3 & PS-5 in this respect. I don't really use that function though because I just like to run it on Detune mode with my high gain amp. It gives it this really sick sound. Now the only trouble is I want to also utilize the S-Bend function at the same time so I'm gonna have to get another one. Check out the Marty Friedman video at BOSS.com because it really sold me on this unit plus playing with it at the kiosk in my GC store.
I got this pedal a month ago, and wow, was i impressed. it's only downfall is that for the harmony feature you will need two amps for best results. Also, you will need to select the key you are in and if you want it to harmonize in minor/major, so basic music theory knowledge is required. The super bend mode is unique and effective, but be careful of how much you use it and where you use it, on the higher frets it is less effective. Very smooth while switching on and off, nice job boss. Features-5 Reliability-5 Sound-4[sometimes sounds digital, which can be a good or bad thing]
I got the Boss PS-6 and have been pleased with it so far. It's really several pedals in one. The "Detune feature" acts as a chorus of sorts (I now use the PS-6 as my chorus pedal). The S-Bend is a lot of fun and creates a very unique sound (especially through a keyboard). Pitch shifter is pretty self explanatory, and it works very well. The harmony function works well also, although in my experience it struggles with the "low" harmonies, slightly. Overall a great pedal. Like I have said throughout, I think it works great with a keyboard as well. Especially the harmony feature (you can set it from minor to major keys very easily. Recommended.
this is one of the coolist toy a guitarist can have have in his rig. if your the only guitarist and always wanted to have some play harmony with you while leading, get this bad boy. its just beautiful. the way it just captures the sound from your guitar makes it really sound like there is a second guitar or 3 guitar players playing together. and sounds so tight together tht whatever u do it does. its just really fun to mess aroud with also. have fun with it. =)
