This pedal is amazing and works exactly like I wanted it too. When I first looked at this pedal all I wanted was a simple A-B switch for one guitar so I could disconnect it from the mixer when I put the guitar down between songs. When I found this pedal and read all it could do I thought this would be a much better option than a simple switch. I use this pedal as a "mini mixer" and on-off switch for two guitars that are played at the same time. I have it setup in the following configuration: Guitars -> LS-2 -> TU-2 -> Mixer. By putting the tuner after the LS-2 we can easily tune either guitar even between songs. In our situation we don't have anyone monitoring the sound board so being able to locally adjust the level of each guitar is fantastic. We have three guitar players in our group and I recently purchased a second LS-2. We plan to daisy chain it to the first so we can to plug in the third guitar. We certainly could have handled our setup differently, but, for our situation, this pedal solved all of our problems in one easy to use device.

Just got this pedal to add to my chain. Although it does provide a good bit of flexibility, it adds quite a bit of noise to my signal chain. Without it, my chain is dead silent. When this pedal is attached, it adds a noticeable hiss, even when it's just plugged in. When I kick in a bypass loop, the hiss becomes even bigger. Overall a good pedal, but if you're playing quiet or acoustic music, you may want to try a more high quality bypass pedal like the Lehle.

Comments about Boss LS-2 Line Selector/Power Supply:

If you have to do a lot of toe tapping to switch between guitars, effects, or amplifiers, the LS-2 can make your onstage life a whole lot easier. The Line Selector is a extremely useful box that serves up various a/b, loop, and mixer duties. As an A/B box the Boss reigns supreme with individual volume controls and effortless switching. As a loop selector the LS-2 offers a few various modes that can clean up your tone by eliminate noisy effects from your chain until its time to use them. These modes are also a lifesaver if you are having problems executing multiple pedal combinations between verses, choruses, or bridges in your songs. By throwing all these pedal combinations into various loops you can make these swift easy changes with the tap of a single pedal. As a Splitter, this allows you to toggle between three amplifiers. This is one of the best devices of its kind on the market, although we hope Boss expands upon this idea with their new dual pedals.

Major component to my pedalboard

By LesDudis

from New Jersey

Comments about Boss LS-2 Line Selector/Power Supply:

I love creating background swells with my Fender Standard Strat and my Epiphone Les Paul...and it's all thanks to this pedal! I use a Boss RV-3 Reverb pedal to create a looping, reversing swell and use the LS-2 to stop the input signal into the Reverb so that I can play over the swelling background ambience. Not only that but the LS-2 also powers up my pedals! It's such a great and significant part of my board.

A great way to better tone

By Dogstarr1

Comments about Boss LS-2 Line Selector/Power Supply:

Using an A/B/Y style switching box like the Boss LS-2 Line Selector/Power Supply allows you to choose either seperate A and B signal paths or mix your A and B signals together to run two amps or effects chains in parallel, this is generally how I run both guitar and bass and the range of tones you can get by using this type of set-up is really amazing. With the LS-2 you can power other pedals in your chain(s) as well, so it has another useful feature besides being a pretty good option for splitting your signal.

May not do what you want as an AB

By BlueMan

from MD

Comments about Boss LS-2 Line Selector/Power Supply:

Very nice stomp, but not perfect. I originally bought this to AB between 2 amps, and though I could use the volume knobs to adjust the input signal to each amp. Not true. I have tried just about every configuration, and have found the volume knobs simply donۡt work in some setups. The Boss documentation even confirms the volume knobs wonۡt work in some configs, so I donۡt think it is just my box. The best AB configuration I have found is to connect the guitar to the input, one amp to a SEND on either A or B and the other amp to the OUTPUT jack. This will let you adjust the volume on the send jack, but the output jack will NOT be adjustable. If you connect one amp to the A send and the other amp to the B send, neither volume works (very annoying). This stomp is really designed for the player who has 2 groups of effect peddles, and wants be able to switch the entire group A peddles to signal, or the entire group B peddles to signal, (or optionally both groups together). I have not tried this but I think this would get both volume knobs working since you have connections to Both A & B send jacks and the output jack.

Best Volume Cut/Boost Pedal

By Brandon Johnson

from Troy, NY

Comments about Boss LS-2 Line Selector/Power Supply:

One of the best and most overlooked features of this pedal is its ability to cut or boost a signal. There are a lot of boost pedals but only a few can cut a signal. I use it in my amp's effects loop to reduce the volume and play a loud amp at bedroom levels. I also have one in my home studio to switch between three different modelers without unplugging anything. This is really one of my most useful pedals.

Great Pedal

By Gid

Comments about Boss LS-2 Line Selector/Power Supply:

Great option for folks just looking to blend in some effects with their dry signal. Allows you to mix your wet and dry so for me, a bass player, i can retain my low end much better. Great value.

Brilliant!

By Steve

from New York

Comments about Boss LS-2 Line Selector/Power Supply:

I bought two Boss switchers to quickly swap between two guitars and two amps. I'm running 4 different pedal boards and they work like a charm. Quiet, no hiss, buzz, or secondary noise. The only downside is that you must unplug the input line to turn it off. Obviously not an issue when playing live, but a bit of a pain in the home studio. Overall, highly recommended.

Good way to stop the tap dance

By Anonymous

from Yardley, PA

Comments about Boss LS-2 Line Selector/Power Supply:

This line selector is great if you have two distinct sounds, for example, a clean chain setup and a distorted setup. It will reduce the number of pedals your signal travels through and improve your tone. You can power other pedals from it, too. I only wish you could run line A into line B instead of just being able to blend the two. I combine my pedals a little to much to have separate lines, so I ended up replacing this with a true bypass A/B looper.
