FV-500H Versatile Across Multiple Gig Setups!!!

By Steve Witherspooon

from Oregon, WI

I've used the FV-500H for guitar amp volume in the front of a heads for years, I've recently added 4 new FV-500H pedals as MIDI expression pedals for a new MIDI controlled stage rig and have had FABULOUS success! Now I have dedicated Volume, Gain, WAH, and one Special for my 100% MIDI controlled setup rig. The FV-500H is AWESOME!!! The only thing that would make these pedals more awesome as a MIDI expression pedal is the addition of a toe down switch. Enjoy your new pedal; you won't be disappointed. Steve

This Pedal is Boss

By nopixels

from SLC, UT

After reading a lot of reviews on various volume pedals that also work as expression pedals, I am very pleased with my selection of the Boss FV-500H. This pedal is substantial! It has a weighty feel and is very large and sturdy under foot. The cast aluminum body seems extremely durable, and has a great raw look. The minimum volume feature is an immeasurable asset, as it allows total control over the range of volume or expression variable for which you are using the pedal. I have used the pedal in-line as a volume control in front of my Egnater Rebel 30, and it is flawless. It has also worked brilliantly when plugged into the expression jack of my Line 6 M13 stompbox modeler. Feel was great out of the box, but this is also adjustable via a screw on the pedal's underside. Highly recommended!

Solid Volume Pedal

By Fahim

from Dhaka

Got mine few weeks back. Have done couple of shows with it. It is well built with smooth, comfortable action. Seems to eat up the top edge a little bit but I am using this to my advantage when I am using my Telecaster. Using an EQ makes this a non issue. Min volume function is interesting!

Precise Expression, Built BOSS Tough

By darkladytaelyn

from St. Peters, MO

If there's one thing you've got to love about a Boss pedal unit, it's that it's made for stompin'. This volume pedal is housed on a large, extra durable chassis with a full coverage of grip, which makes it easy to play and hard to miss. Have not used as a keys expression pedal, but great as a volume pedal for my bass. Note that this is also a passive unit; it does not use batteries or a power supply. The FV-500H will not make any changes, good or bad, to the tone of your setup. The only drawback that some might remotely see is being too large for some pedalboards at 11.5"l x 4.5"w x 2.5"h. Personally, though, that's why I picked it, as I'm always afraid I'll slip or lose balance with smaller units by other brands.

The Best Volume Pedal Out There !!!

By Dror Becker

from Los Gatos,CA

this is the best volume pedal period. It has a control of how easy it is to move the pedal and has a tuner out so that the tuner is out of the way of the signal, that is very useful.

Good quality, strong construction. The "Minimum Volume" control and tuner output are nice features. I recommend this product if you are just looking for a no nonsense volume pedal

Great pedal but maybe too big...?

By guitarvillian101

from Sacramento

Overall this is an awesome pedal. It works great, is very sturdy and you can set the minimum and maximum volume and even silence your amp with just a switch of your foot. I also like this pedal because it doesnt require a power source and just works off of the amp. but id say the only bad thing about this pedal is that its a little on the large side (an understatement). its a little larger than 11" X 4" and it doesnt fit in most BOSS pedal boards. but i have heard that the BCB-60 can accomodate the V-WAH pedal by removing the cord concealer but i think the V-WAH is a little bit smaller than the FV-500 so im not sure it will fit.

Great Pedal

By Riverbank Rob

from Houston, TX, USA

I bought mine a couple of weeks ago and have gigged with it twice. It has very smooth action and is built solid. I love the ability to set the minimum volume, something you don't get on other pedals.

Solid pedal!

By TheRaygun

from Reynoldsburg, OH

The FV-500H is a great pedal, well built and highly functional. A volume pedal can be used several different ways: control the overall volume of your chain, volume swells, and controlling the amount of drive from other pedals. This Boss pedal excels at all those functions and is well-built. I expect this one to last a long time.
