It works fine while I'm using it, but I can't tell you how many batteries I've drained by accidentally leaving it plugged in because it can't take an external power supply. It's got four different switches on the back, and not one of them is for power. The only way to turn it off to save the battery is to unplug it, and doing so usually triggers whatever I'm controlling, which is very annoying. If you're planning to have it permanently plugged into something, buy something else.

Larry Chisholm (music/guitar teacher) 08/29/2013

I am very happy with this footswitch FS-6 by Boss! It helps to switch from reverb/delay and chorus on my amp. It is going to make a joy to add to the special sounds for the church I play for. It is easy to set up and get ready to perform the music I play. I real have more fun with the amp. that I use. I recommend this footswitch for anyone who needs to add to the sounds that your amp. has. I like the base on the bottom, it has a good rubber grip for nonslip. The easy footswitches make it simple to switch from reverb & chorus. I really I the looks and the feel of it. I am glad there is only one stereo cord needed from the footswitch to the amp. Thank you, Boss and Guitar Center.

Close . . . Good idea - just not well designed

By 1327510

As usual with Boss, it's built like a tank. But the good stuff ends there. It only uses a 9v battery. That's just bad. It needs the standard 9v wall-wart option of every other Boss product. I had to cut a notch in mine and solder in an external 9v pigtail. Then use a 1Spot adapter to power it. Now, I can turn it on and off with my power strip like everything else on my board. It needs LEDs over each switch to know when they are engaged - on/off. It's got power on the pedal the LED can be a separate circuit. Just not very well thought through by Boss. Only Boss product I have ever been disappointed in.

Nice pedal..Bad price

By max power

from Lockport, IL

I picked up the FS6 to use with my Roland amp. The pedal seems well made and sturdy but I think it is overpriced. Another thing that I do not like about the pedal is that it does NOT have a dc jack for an ac adapter. Buy this pedal only if you have to.

Boss FS-6 Footswitch

By A. Mowrey

from Lakeville, MN

Like all BOSS products, very good quality and substantial. The indicator lights on top are great to know what condition the switch is in. Latched and unlatched mode allows flexibility. Uses a 9 volt battery for power (required) which drains quickly if cords are left plugged in. I purchased an adapter ($3.00)which plugs into the battery connector on the BOSS and then into my pedal board which works great. GREAT PRODUCT!

Top of the line

By MadMan Richard

I bought the Boss FS-6 Footswitch to use with 2 Roland SP-606 samplers and they haven't failed me once! Had it over a year now and it still works great. Great housing and size. I travel and perform a lot and this thing CAN take a beating! I'm actually going to buy another one to use with my 2 new Korg padKontrols to control parameters within Ableton Live 7. So far, it's been like a dream :)

FS-6

By SteveI

Works great, BUT....... It's run with a 9volt battery and powers up as soon as you plug it in. Sure wish it had a little toggle switch to turn it on and off........ As it is I've got to unplug it when I'm not using it.

FS-5U times 2!!!

By Bluesbird54

from Guilford, CT

Boss FS-6 Footswitch is a great item. It is sturdy and well built (I have dropped it a few times and it works fine). The pedals are very responsive. I bought it for a Cube 60 amp along with a FS-5U. I have found these pedals quite useful with my Jazz Chorus and as a keyboard pedal. I have them for well over 2 years and it still looks and works like I just took it out of the box. A very nice item and well worth the money.
