Fender amps of the '50s and '60s are beloved and coveted by guitarists around the world. Thanks to BOSS' technology and tone know-how, the new FBM-1 pedal brings the natural, fat, rich, bright tone of the Fender Bassman to a BOSS pedal. In conjunction with Fender, the BOSS FBM-1 re-creates the legendary tone of the 1959 Fender Bassman. Features include the same controls on the original Bassman amp: Presence, Treble, Mid, and Bass EQ controls. The FBM-1 pedal also functions perfectly as a "pre-gain pedal" placed before an already overdriven amp to add the tone character of the Bassman.

I bought this pedal for an EQ, but it's so much more than that. The overdrive tones are awesome, and when I stacked it with my other overdrive pedal, it sounded great, and still had warm low end tones. If you turn the gain on to where it just starts to break up, it sounds the best.
i picked this pedal up this past weekend on a clearance at GC. if you're looking for a high gain thing, this is not your pedal. but if you want a great jazz, country, blues, classic rock pedal this is a great option. it has plenty of volume and can be set to a super clean sparkly tone. something overdrive, distortion, fuzz just won't do. it compresses well, is sensitive to your picking and cleans up too. this is the best pedal for a classic cool jazz tone i have ever come across. dry and punchy. i like.
I use it with my Rumble 150 and am able to replicate the sound I have been looking for. I played through the Fender bassman amp when I started playing back in the early seventies. It is a good combo with my Jazz bass and rumble amp.
The Boss FBM-1 Is most likely the best pedal I've ever heard. It gives my sound a certain spice that no other pedal could do. I play guitar and this pedal sounds brilliant. My friend plays bass and it also sounds brilliant. great pedal. worth its price. dont question. BUY!!!!
I tried this pedal out at my local Guitar Center and absolutely loved it. Some days later, I found a guy selling it new, but used, for pretty cheap. I love it more and more every time I use it. It's my go-to pedal. I play through an American-made Fender Stratocaster Deluxe and a Fender DeVille 410 (of course I put in some NOS tubes) and I get the most heavenly tones. Turn down the gain on this thing and you get one hot jazz tone. I say, "Buy it!"
This is a great pedal overall. Use it to character your amp, not drive it. The overdrive to me sounds a bit muddy. I own a a 59' Bassman Reissue and a Epiphone Valve Jr. For some small club gigs, I use the bassman. When i do bigger shows, i actually use the Valve JR. the FBM-1 is great because it allows me to character my Valve Jr. to sound very similar to my bassman. Then i use a boss Blues Driver to actually drive in my leads. here is my pedal set up FBM-1-->BD2-->Danelectro Reel Echo-->PT-13 tuner The FBM-1 will definitely get you close to the sound of a real Bassman, you just need to learn to EQ it and you will be fine.
Best blues pedal on the Market. Add a Boss Blues Driver to boost your solos and voila...scorching texas blues at it's best. I use this pedal with an American Deluxe Strat and a '65 Twin Reverb RI. I also play through a Blues Deluxe Tweed for a more authentic '59 Bassman crunch at smaller venues. Here's a recipe for a pro quality blues sound on a budget: 1. Fender Stratocaster , 2. Fender Hot Rod Deluxe or Deluxe Reverb, 3. Boss Fender Bassman Pedal.
This pedal is the stuff that dreams are made of. Although the sound was born in an older time, it still has the tone and presence to turn heads today. If you are looking for a raunchy overdrive, look no further. This pedal is worth it's weight in sound and dynamic presentation alone, but it also comes in the form of a boss tank.
