this chorus pedal is a very good pedal if ur looking for a chorus that will fatten ur sound to make up for what ur amp lacks but if ur looking for a crystaline and watery "come as you are" chorus sound then this pedal is not for you, it only offers subtle chorus sounds. to attempt to attain that sound will only give you a tremolo or flange effect. if ur looking for the watery chorus boss is known for then the ce 3 is what you need. chorus ensemble has been boss trademark sound for as long as i know of and its exactly what its name implies, an ensemble of great chorus sounds. which will allow u to get any chorus sound, i own this pedal and wont give it up for nothing because of the things that its capable of but it is not my standalone chorus for cleans, instead i use a vintage fender chorus paired with this pedal and it sounds very impressive, but as far as a number one chorus pedal goes, my ce 3 is the work horse, but like i said before if u just want to fatten and contour ur sound, buy this pedal.

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

The Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal is a truly amazing pedal. It can be used as a phaser or a flanger, depending on how the knobs are set. It also adds a great effect on any guitar part no matter what the music style you play. This pedal has an amazing value and is very durable.

Awesome

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

I have a Line 6 Spider 3 and have been satisfied with everything about it, except the clean sound. Their onboard chorus sound is not the chorus sound I like. I just purchased the Boss Super Chorus pedal hoping to solve that. Wow!! This was exactly the tone I was looking for. You can tell it is built to last. It is really heavy duty. You wouldn't expect anything less from Boss. They are known for quality. If you too are searching for that pretty shimmering clean tone...look no further.

Big Chorusy Bang for Your Buck

By garagebandking

from Pine Hill, NJ

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

I currently use this pedal in conjunction with: an Ibanez Talman, Epiphone LP Std, Peavey Wolfgang Special, Marshall SL-X 2100, 5150 combo and Fender Princeton. The pedal is capable of extremely subtle chorus that will round out your sound up the gamut to exceptionally watery chorus tones. When playing clean, this pedal really shines and allows you to fill your sound out quite a bit. A stereo lead sound with light chorus becomes something to behold. This pedal is built very solid, like most Boss products. I've used it for numerous gigs and recordings and have never had a problem. A great lower priced alternative to other stereo chorus pedals out there.

I love it

By Fuzzball

from Ida, MI

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

I have always been a big fan of using a nice chorus for live shows in order to fatten up the guitars wall of sound. If that is also what you desire you should consider this unit. This unit is built Boss tough so it should handle the abuse of the road. This chorus pedal is great it delivers sharp sound unlike some units that tend to sound muddy. I would definitely recommend this unit.

My favorite chorus pedal

By BlueToad

from MA

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

First of all, don't buy this and expect to get a Small Clone. This pedal is much more subtle (although it can get fairly deep, this isn't the pedal for you if you want over the top modulation). I use it with a strat going into either a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue or an Ampeg V3, and I really only use the Boss CH-1 with a clean tone. With the high end turned up, it adds a wonderful, shimmery sound which I love for rhythm and mellow leads. With the tone rolled back, and the reverb turned up, it makes sweet, haunting tones, particularly nice with volume swells. It's also great between my Martin OM and the PA, when I'm strumming and want a little texture. I have played around with more dramatic, "under water" tones on this pedal, and they sound good, but that's not my cup of tea and I can't really comment.

Just Fine. Nothing Special.

By hbucker

from Highlands Ranch, CO

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

This is a pretty basic pedal. I use it a fair amount but the Chorus isn't particularly deep or warm sounding. It'll do the job if you're looking for a bare bones chorus effect but it won't give you "that" thick swirling chorus tone. Sometimes I think it should be called the Super Coarse

Great Pedal

By MetalheadRedneck500

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

If You lookin' for a good chorus, this is the one you want, it gives you a great chorus that you can mess around with until the cows come home! And if your lookin for that Zakk Wylde chorus sound, he used this while he was with Pride & Glory, And you can still get the chorus sound he gets with he stereo chorus he uses now with the CH-1. A great Buy.

Good enough!

By greg

from Kalamazoo, MI

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

Typical Boss build - painted steel box; solid feel to switch, knobs and jacks. This chorus gives me what I want at the middle setting of each control: that subtle swirl and definition for clean arpeggios and solos and a nice spacy depth for muted chords. Does not do the huge sweeping tones of some of the more boutique oriented pedals, but I have my old Boss BF-2 for the spaceman sounds.

Great for bass too!

By DrBeanz

from VT

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

I was looking to get a boss: bass-chorus, however i tried this pedal out for fun, and it sounds great on bass!! It gives it just the right amount of chorus, and to me it sounds better than the bass chorus pedal. You can tweak the effects so that you can get your sound really wet and saturated with chorus to a very light subtle effect to play the most delicate clean parts. As you would expect from Boss, this pedal is built like a tank, it feels really nice and solid. I would recommend this pedal to a bass player or guitar player, the price is defiantly worth it, if you like spacey sounds you will be using this pedal a lot. Paired up with an echo/delay you can really unleash the potential with this pedal.

I love this pedal!

By Joexi

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

I bought this a few months ago when wandering through a guitar store. I was looking at something to really send my performance at my next gig over the top. I got home, hooked his up.. and fell in love. You can get an amazing array of sounds, from a slight wave to a sounds-like-there's-four-guitars sound. I love it. I recommend it to anyone looking to put a fill in their sound, or even make their guitar sound better. Very awesome.

You must own this pedal.

By J-DUB

from Rockford, IL

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

Your clean channel is not complete without chorus. This is the best chorus pedal available at this price point. This adds such thick layers to your tone that it just fills the venue. With high gain you can accentuate leads beautifully. There is not a flaw in this pedal at all. I would be lost without it.

Standard for 80's music for a great reason

By Lexie

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

I am through with multi-effects units as they never sound the same as individual pedals ever. Having said that, the Boss CH-1 Super Chorus is my main "clean" sound for anything from Siouxsie and the Banshees to quieter parts and ballads of 80's Metal. It's build like a tank, not impossible to destroy. (I really don't plan on using a AGM-114 Hellfire Missile on it like one would use to destroy a tank. I figure I am good, thanks) Anything from a warble to subtle shimmer to your mix, thanks to the handy wet/dry-mix level adjustment that some chorus pedals lack. I also had considered the Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble, but this one really gets my sound where I want it. Rock on!

great chorus

By the wylde dime

from charlotte, nc

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

This is a great unit. You can get a suprising large volume of sounds to come out of this. I have gotten a slight chorus for arpeggios, to almost a warbling type of sound with all the pots maxed. I espiecially like the fact I got the "Surfing With The Alien" chorus out of this. This is one of my most used pedals. I suggest it to anyone wanting a good quality pedal(in build and sound).

sweet pedal

By alex

from il

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

Got this pedal for Christmas yesterday. I'ts pretty sweet. You can easily achieve good chorus effects out of this pedal. I will probably use it mostly on a low setting while im doing rythem in praiseband at my church, but if you put some distortion or overdrive in front of this thing, you can really make some cool sounds. I've found if you do add some sort of gain in front of it, it really brings your harmonics out, almost like a comressor. I suggest buying the power supply with it.

The Ultimate Disappointment

By Shane Pestana

from Haverhill, Massachusetts

Comments about Boss CH-1 SUPER Chorus Pedal:

I thought I would stick to Boss my whole life. WRONG. I was looking for a chorus pedal with shimmery tone. This pedal requires that all the knobs be turned ALL THE WAY UP for even a small chorus effect. I wanted it, because it was boss, but it flat-out sucked. I'd go with an Ibanez pedal, a Mod Tone, or an EH Neo clone. I, myself got the ModTone Aqua Chorus. The Neo clone is way more shimmery, though. Hope this helped.
