Versatility at its finest...
This is a great pedal. I have owned it for about 6 months and I never get tired of what I can do with it. If you want distortion you've got it, although when cranked to just distortion it gives you an early Metallica sound. When just over drive its warm and and heavy. the only draw back is that sometimes when strumming it can be a tad muffled. If you mixed them together its a nice heavy distortion. I use it mainly for distortion but will add a bit of overdrive to fatten out the sound and bring a little more bass. Over all this a great pedal and if you need versatility I highly recommend it.

Finding the Right Distortion
For starters, the Boss OS-2 pedal has more features than most pedals for the price. Also, it's Boss, it will never break. In most cases, it provides sufficient distortion. However, with my Gibson SG/Marshall Valvestate, it seems as though I can not always get the desired distortion. Also, if my amp is not loud, the overdrive is very crunchy and not clean. I recommend this pedal for anywhere from light distortion to a heavy crunch overdrive, i.e. ACDC. However, anything more, you may want to mix the distortion from your amp with the pedal or upgrade to a metal pedal. Any questions, email me.

Simply Awesome
Wide variety of sounds with this pedal. You can get thick overdrive or hot distortion. This pedal is really versitial. The sound quality is excellent. As with all Boss pedals it is very well made and will last. Let's your guitar still be heard. I would recommend this pedal to anyone and if my was stolen I would buy another one the next day.

The pedal you've been looking for
The Boss OS-2 the perfect sound that I've been looking for, and at Guitar Center for an Unbelievable price!!! I use a Fender tube amp, and the onboard overdrive wasn't focused enough, but I wasn't looking for a crazy metal distortion. This pedal can dial in any blend of overdrive body and cutting distortion highs that I can dream up...and only $70! Boss makes the most solid and reliable pedals around, and this one is no exception.

great pedal that you will love
i ordered this pedal about a month ago, and im still finding new sounds i can make with it. features- awsome! has 4 knobs on it so it gives you plenty of controll on the sound that you want. Quality-awsome! its boss, so its built like a tank anyone who has played a boss pedal knows that they are built very well Value- this pedal has a lot of value because it takes up less space than 2 pedals and you can get a wide range of sounds from it and overal i love this pedal. the only thing i dont like about this pedal, is that i cant get a heavy distortion out of it, which is exactly what i expected. if you are into rock or hard rock, this pedal is great. sometimes its nice to put it on overdrive and turn the drive knob down, just so you get a little bit of a boost. i play my epiphone g-400 through this pedal out to an alesis wildfire 60 watt

Amazing!
This pedal is by far my favorite single effect pedal that i've ever played on. It has great versatility. From playing music at church to playing in a hardcore band it delivers the right sound for nearly every style.

The sound I was looking for!
This is a great pedal. I have had it for about a week now and right out of the box it has nice warm sound. I had purchased a DS-1, but exchanged it for this one to get more versatility out of a pedal with a little less of a "Metal" edge to it. My only knock on this product is that the pedal itself came a little loose and it clicks loudly when I hit it with my foot. I tried tightening the screws, but the actual metal dowel was apparently cut too long, and tightening did not fix the click. Outside of that - it flat out rocks.

Smooth Overdrive and Distortion
i love this pedal very much, its a big part of my tone, in combination with the boss cs-3 it can give sustain for ages, and without it to, i use it mainly as and overdrive, it gives nice blues, indie tones, its a very nice pedal and versatile.
I would definitely recommend it, and beside you know builds their pedals to last forever!!
Love it really :D

Boss OS-2
I originally bought this pedal to use with solid state amp. Both distortion and overdrive are good, not the best, but good. I recently got a tube amp and use it's distortion with the OS-2 all the way on OD side, gain all the way down, level up all the way, and tone about halfway for use as a boost. This pedal is a GREAT boost for lead and rhythm playing. So if you need a pedal for boost or even as your main distortion, this is a good pedal for the price.
