Noise Suppressor..........Duh!!!!!
This noise supressor really does the job. I play loud through a Fender Strat and Marshall DSL50 head and this really cleans up the hum and feedback. Even has a MUTE feature to use during instrumental breaks. Best way to get full use from this is:
Guitar to INPUT
OUTPUT to Amp
Use SEND / RETURN to other effect pedals as a loop

Boss NS2 best noise gate I've ever used!
This noise gate is the best noise gate I've ever used. Nobody in the world uses more gain than me. I have a gainy rack pre amp that is very noisy. I also use distortion pedals to push the gain that much further. I owned all kinds of rack noise gates that I had to sell cause they didn't do the trick. This pedal is awesome. I use so much gain that when I'm not playing there's a ton of noise and this pedal eliminates it all. It even has a loop to get rid of your pedal noise too. So I run the output to my pre amp to get rid of that noise and it gets rid of my pedal noise cause of the loop. I can't ask for anything more than that. Don't be fooled. Just because it's not a rack mount noise gate doesn't mean it can't do the job. In fact it can do the job much better and much cheaper!

Pretty good
I have been experiencing some loud humming/squealing from my Crate 212+ and Schecter Tempest so I began searching through noise gates and suppression pedals. This pedal caught my eye and through a lot of research I took the risk of getting it to see if it would actually work and not kill my tone.
I plugged it in to my effects chain and immediately it killed the tone. I consulted the manual to see if I was doing something and I discovered that this pedal is really picky with where it is in the chain. After some relocating and tweaking my tone is not as decreased as it was before but there is still a reduction. As far as the noise suppression goes it does cut the feedback out.
And of course it is a Boss product so it is built like a rock. It is a good buy if you read the manual and know how to line up your effects chain.

YUp!
The NS-2 is a pretty straight ahead noise gate that does an effective job of getting rid of all that pesky noise created from high gain or vintage pedals. Using the simple Threshold and Decay knob we quickly cured an annoying buzz that was coming from one of our vintage phasers. The noise reduction circuitry is smooth and we didn?t notice any signal interference. You?ll have compromise a little note sustain depending on the Decay settings, but that?s just the nature of suppressing noise. Take the time to dial this thing in and let it do its thing. In addition to running the NS-2 inline, Boss added Send and Return jacks for singling out those noisy effects and putting them in a seperate loop. This offers some added flexibilty for routing, looping, and switching possibilties. You might also want to forget about ever buying batteries since the NS-2 also acts as a power supply for up to eight effects.

My favorite piece of equipment
This pedal cuts out ALL the unwanted buzz and feedback from my guitar and other pedals. I use it with a boss compression, a super overdrive, and a DD-6 delay. Its wonderful.

Passable
I've used this for years. Most of the time the results are o.k. but not astounding. It will cut out most of the noise but I believe it also limits my tone. I swear my amp sounds better when I'm not using it.
It can also be confusing I suppose. It's designed to have it's own effects loop. Once you understand this, it's generally pretty easy to set up. But as someone else said, you must read the owners manual.
Look around. I'm not convinced that a straight up noise gate wouldn't work better.

Works like it should!
Just got this a little while ago and I'm quite happy with it. It does exactly what it's supposed to and does it well.

WHY DIDN'T I BUY THIS EARLIER?!
This pedal is a gold mine. Without taking away your guitar's tone or sound, it cuts out the feedback right after you play. There are also options to adjust the decay,Threshold and even a mute setting. Before I got this I was so tired of the feedback that came out from my pedals. If you have a Boss Ds1 pedal or any other distortions pedals, this is a must to pick up! It's definitely one of the best noise suppressors out there!

Wroks like a charm
It does exactly what it is supposed to do. Most of my gain comes from my amp and I only use a couple of pedals but this is a must with the level of gain I use. I would literally be lost without this pedal.

You need this!
So this isn't what you'd call a "fun" pedal, but it is probably one of the most important ones. After struggling with transient noise from pedals, cables, and lots of distortion, I bought the NS-2 to clean it up. After recabling everything in the send/return configuration as shown in the instructions, the results are beyond amazing! My one noisey rig is now clean and mean, and sounds like it should. Undecided about this one? Try it out and return it if you don't like it...but I bet you'll keep it! This is a MUST!
