The Boss GEB-7 Compact in size but featuring a wide frequency range — from 50Hz all the way up to 10kHz. It has 7 sliders, 3 of which cover the critical midrange (400Hz, 500Hz, and 800Hz) where the character of the bass sound is determined. Each slider boosts or cuts over a ±15dB range, allowing for substantial tone-shaping capability.

Rock solid

This is the first stomp box a bassist should buy. It's Boss, so you know it will never break. And it has a great range of frequencies, so you can make pretty much any amp/bass setup sound better. I play a Rickenbacker 4003, and this thing has been great for accentuating the clear treble sounds of my ric. I use it to cut the mid down and boost the low end for a great growl and crystal clear highs. I would also suggest the Boss Bass limiter.

A great addition to your tone

EQ is probably one of the most useful things to have at your disposal, it can completely change the nature of any instrument or amp and is very useful to shape your tone either in front of or after other effects. The Boss GEB-7 Bass Equalizer is particualrly useful on passive basses.
