From slapback to oceans of echo!
With 3 delay-time modes the Boss DD-3 Digital Delay Pedal unit can handle all your performance needs. Features delay times that range from 12-1/2 to 800ms. Produces endless repeats on demand in Hold mode.
Boss DD-3 Digital Delay - The DD-3 is by far the most popular digital delay box in all of pedal history. I'd go so far as to say its' pristine delays have been repeated on more stages than any other echo device. This box is everything you'd expect from a hard-working digital delay unit. You'll get super clean repeats with no coloration, perfect decays, and enough delay times to create everything from short 'bathroom wall' slapbacks to long cascading patterns. The same 3 "easy-as-pie" parameters you'll find on most Boss delays is here: delay time, feedback, and level. There is also a fourth "mode" knob that adjusts the delay time range and also switches the unit into "hold" (infinite repeat) mode for sampling snippets of solos or riffs. For an all-around delay box you can't really go wrong with the DD-3 unless, of course, your expecting it to sound like an analog delay.

so this was my first stomp box i ever bought. i originaly was using various multi-effect modules, but i wanted some stompboxes. i decided, since my style is very experimental/ambient, that the digital delay would be a good way to go. i tried out both this and the dd6. though the dd6 has a couple more features, its some extra bucks. i chose this because it was more cost efficient. though if i were in a serious band, the 6 is the way i would go due to the reverse/warp features. this pedals got me hooked on boss pedals. OS-2 and PH-3 and TR-2 and maybe BF-3 are my next ones

It was my first digital delay and I bought it in 1990. It is so well made and the sound quality which it produces is so brillant that I never thought to get it replaced with some other one. It has lot of variety and probably can do wonders for your playing. Boss pedals are rather one the best in the market and they are so much durable that even after 17 years of continous rough use it never gave me any sort of problem. These are build like a rock and crafted for a life time. The sound quality is superb and operation is very quiet indeed. The echo produced from it is smooth and very much balanced and a perfect echo decaying property. Don't ever miss this pedal. Thanks & regards.

The Boss DD-3 is exactly the digital delay I was looking for. Very simple to use with delay times more than long enough for what I need. The hold function can be fun to play with too. Remember, the DD-3 is a DIGITAL delay...not an analog. The DD-3 won't give you a warm analog sound, that's not it's purpose. It's purpose is to give you precise right on the money delays that are crisp and crystal clear. And of course, it's a Boss so dependability really isn't an issue.

I have a new favorite effect thanks to this pedal. When I heard my brother use it, I fell in love with the delay pedal. After I got my own, I found myself using it nearly every time I played, whether it fit in or not.
