Another Amazing Boss Pedal
On stage you pick your poison depending on the song; do you want to go with a typical, clean electric sound, or the natural one offered by an acoustic guitar? While not all songs go well with the crisp tone of an acoustic, when you DO need one, its allways handy to have the BOSS AC-3 Acoustic Simulator. You will not find a better quality pedal coming from such an esteemed manufacturer, and for just shy of $100, you can't get a much better value.
All the little farts and burps an acoustic can make are simulated with this pedal; everything from the rough ringing of hard-plucked strings to the distinguished sound of slapping your palm against the strings, along with the intricate sound an acoustic makes when palm-muted are about as flawlessly simulated with this pedal as they can be.
First playing the pedal is an experience all in its own. It's hard not to be skeptical when it comes to this pedal, but playing it will change your mind completely. BOSS has created a masterpiece all in its own, and has created a pedal that outplays the competition and makes your life as a musician much more convenient. Do yourself a favor and buy this thing.

amazing
I find this "amazing" pedal great for playing stairway to heaven and many more songs. I am astonished of how quick one sound can turn into its opposite sound so i reccomend this pedal to every guitarist eager for a fast change of sound.

This Is Amazing
This little gadet saved me a lot of money. I own an electric guitar but I lead worship at church and needed an acoustic guitar. Instead of spending alot of money on an acoustic electric, I purchased this pedal. It sounds exactly like an acoustic guitar. It holds battery for a long time, and it is very durable. The sound is so pure and there are different types of acoustics you make it sound like. I highly suggest this for anyone who needs to switch back and forth from electric and acoustic without the hassle of taking off one guitar and picking up another.

Closer than you can Imagine
It may be hard to believe, but this pedal is incredibly close to the real thing. Although it is easy to distinguish it from a actual acoustic guitar, the quality of the sound it creates more than makes of for its small imperfections. The four distinct settings are good. I use the jumbo setting the most, since it gives my a very bright sound that is very useful for the music I play. The brightness is not only useful for a typical acoustic song but can be dialed in to have a very pleasing clean sound that can really give light to other styles.
During practices the pedal is easy to dial in and set. However, it can get a little more difficult in a live setting. A recurring problem that can arise is a cracking sound that can occur while playing. This problem can be easily fixed most of the time with a turn of the effect or top knob.
The reverb feature that the previous ac-2 did not have is a more than welcome addition to my rig. It is very nice when use with the piezo or jumbo setting accordingly. The other two acoustic setting seem to favor either light finger picking or strumming when the reverb is on. Otherwise it can sound drowned out or hazy. The reverb is also something that needs to be checked well in a live situation. I found that it can make the a hazy sound that can conflict the vocalist if I did not adjust it to a particular song when I was strumming. This can once again be easily fixed, but you make sure for each song change.
Overall it is a fantastic pedal to add to your collection. Although it has some ways to go before it a exact replica of an acoustic, it is still a good pedal that gives a bright and clean sound. Dial it in and you guitar will sing with amazing clarity.

Awesome replacement for an acoustic guitar!
I use this pedal with my Schecter S1 Elite, and with my Marshall practice amp, and its a superb replacement of an acoustic guitar! I've used it in school in recitals in which an acoustic guitar sounds much better. I've gotten numerous compliments on the pedal for how good it sounds! The amount of control you have on this thing is insane! (which is why features I gave a 9) It also uses a standard 9Volt outlet, which is nice if you're into pedal boards.
I gave the value a 4 just because it is a tad bit expensive, but hey, it is better than buying an acoustic guitar if you just want to fool around a bit!

Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator
This is a very useful effects pedal. I can't believe how closely this resembles an acoustic guitar. I use this in concerts where I don't want to bring an acoustic. I can play a soft song with this and then throw it off and play harder rock. I use it with an Epiphone Les Paul Standard through a Marshall MG100DFX/MG412 Half Stack. It sounds great. I recommend this to anyone who likes to play soft rock through an electric guitar.

The best effect
This is the best pedal I have ever used when trying to get a nice clean sound. With the rights adjustments on the top and bottom knobs, you are able to get sound like no other on an electric. I would recommend the boss AC-3 acoustic simulator to anyone who wants a great clean sound and who does not want to bring both an acoustic and electric guitar.

Buy this pedal
My band members have been pushing me to explore an acoustic simulator, well I checked out the AC-3 and was taken back. This pedal sounds great when it is fine tuned. We all know the simulator will never be the "real thing" but it sounds great on stage and the untrained ear can't tell the difference any how. A couple things I have noticed:
-Active pickups will give some hum when the pedal is on.
-Jumbo setting will give the best attack on stage, the enhance is too much on the front, the standard is too dull and the piezo is thin. Of course this is with an ESP Standard Eclipse w/ EMGs.
Now you can finally switch from distortion to that classical metal finger picking riffage. Hope my inputs help out!

Amazing pedal
First things first. It works well, This pedal can make any electric guitar sound like a convincable acoustic guitar. With this pedal you can access transitions that could never do with this pedal. With this pedal i have made transitions like going from heavy metal breakdowns to country sounding chords. You can literally, with the push of one foot, switch genres. You can go from acoustic duet to poppy chorus lines, or from metal shred-downs to hill-billy squaredance. Ultimately, get this pedal if you want to make your sound unique.

hee ????
Just bought one from gc. There is no way on this planet that this pedal sounds even close to a real acoustic guitar, you got to be on acid.
I tried all kinds of different settings with the pedal, with a gibson classic, with a mesa boogie F 30, with a mesa boogie lonestar. I even called in my wife to ask her opinion. Sounds nice, and adds more body, but thats about it.
sorry, that pedal is a waste of a trip to the store.
