Overview

The L1 Model II system delivers wide horizontal sound coverage and smooth tonal balance”across the stage and throughout the room. It includes Bose's smoothest, most consistent sound coverage with proprietary Bose Spatial Dispersion loudspeaker technology which lets you enjoy balanced tone and consistent sound levels from the front of the room to the back amd even off to the sides. It also comes with a stand that folds to be more portable, a B1 bass module, plus cables, power cord, and carrying bags for the various components.

Like the original award-winning Bose L1 system, the L1 Model II is an all-in-one innovation that replaces conventional monitors, mixers and PA speakers. It's packed with proprietary Bose technologies designed to improve your amplified sound.

The system's breakthrough Cylindrical Radiator loudspeaker produces wide, uniform sound coverage”onstage and throughout an audience of up to several hundred”with little drop off in volume and tone.

The Bose L1 Model II system features Articulated Array speaker technology for even greater tonal balance. The loudspeaker's 24 vertically mounted drivers are precisely angled to create clearer highs and more consistent tone in the room. Even people off to the sides enjoy well-balanced, detailed sound.

Deep bass from small enclosures
L1 Model II systems come with one B1 bass module to ensure more accurate amplification of lower notes for most voices and instruments”including guitars, keyboards and various horns. A double bass package is recommended for bass guitars, kick drums and DJs.

The B1 bass module is considerably lighter and smaller than conventional bass bins required for the same performance. Power up to two bass modules on a single power stand. Add two more bass modules to the system with an optional PackLite extended bass package.

Lighter and more compact
L1 Model II systems are Bose's lightest, most compact live amplification systems”with four retractable legs on the power stand for easy setup and breakdown. The power stand also has a simplified control section; the single line-level input can be used with instruments, mics, mixers, laptops, MP3 players or DVD systems.

These lighter systems are built to handle the road. The loudspeaker has a rugged, reinforced grille, and each package includes padded carrying bags for major components.

Powerful option: ToneMatch audio engine
Add the optional T1 ToneMatch audio engine to quickly expand the system and fine tune your sound with powerful, proprietary tone-shaping tools.

The compact, multichannel engine provides fingertip control of the Bose library of ToneMatch presets. Just touch a button to make hundreds of precise refinements to the sound of instruments and microphones.

The engine also features a complete suite of studio-class reverbs, additional effects and dynamics processing. It connects to the L1 Model II system via a single digital cable for quick, streamlined setup.

The Bose L1 Model II system includes these features:

Loudspeaker
Cylindrical Radiator and Articulated Array technologies ” The loudspeaker's 24 drivers are arranged using Articulated Array technology in a slim, vertical enclosure”creating very wide horizontal coverage and consistent tonal balance. Musicians and audience members to the sides and throughout the venue hear fuller, more detailed sound with little dropoff in volume and tone.

Two-piece, interlocking design ” For quick and easy transport, setup and breakdown of Cylindrical Radiator loudspeaker. Each section of loudspeaker is 43 1/2" (1.1m) high. Unique, proprietary design includes interlocking bayonet and center and bottom latches.

Power Stand
Integrated power amplifiers ” Provide clean, precise amplification for L1 Model II system with up to two B1 bass modules. Musicians can play soft or loud, with confidence the system will accurately amplify their performance.

Analog input, trim control and signal/clip LED - Line-level analog input accepts 1/4" TRS phone cable. Can be used for instruments or other audio sources like DJ mixers, MP3 players, computers or DVD systems. Trim control lets you adjust the level of analog input signal. Signal/clip LED indicates status of analog input signal.

Bass module out ” Delivers amplified bass output signal to one or two B1 bass modules. L1 system automatically adjusts equalization appropriately when bass modules are connected.
ToneMatch port - Digital audio and power connection for ToneMatch audio engine. Use with included ToneMatch cable.

Bass line out - Post-DSP bass signal output. Accepts 1/4" TRS phone cable. Use to connect the optional PackLite amplifier with up to two additional bass modules. Can also be used to connect powered subwoofer or additional amplification system.

Retractable legs - Provide stability for streamlined L1 Model II power stand and loudspeaker. Four retractable legs fold out of power stand simultaneously for quick setup and compact transport. Small footprint also frees up room on tight stages.

Bass Module
Compact, lightweight enclosure - Easy to transport, setup and breakdown. Small footprint takes up considerably less space than traditional bass cabs required for same performance. Fits between legs of power stand. Interlocking feet on the modules make it easy to securely stack up to four modules together on their sides.

Highly efficient speaker design ” Two 5 1/4" (13.3 cm), high-output, high-excursion drivers produce deep strong bass from an elegant small enclosure. When connected to power stand, active equalization circuitry automatically adjusts bass signal appropriately. Rugged, twist-lock connector on bass module lets you link two modules together.

I am a keyboardist/systhesist....my gigs are from a no stage fine dining area to thousands in the arena. This system EXCEEDS my expectations. I cannot look at it while I play....it does not compute; is does not seem logical based on my experience prior to owning it. BUT just sit back and let this thing sing...you will be amazed. It simply does somthing no other system does quite this way. There is music everywhere, transparent sounds with all the frequencies and some finesse that I have only heard in earphones...

bought the L1 model 2 from guitar center in november for a couple of shows that i needed to supply the sound system. for most of the shows i use the venue's system. i play acoustic southern and classic rock with no effects on my guitar ! i tested it out in some small rooms and seemed to be fine. didn't buy the tone match already had a good yamaha board. got a chance to sound test it in the venue the week before the show to give it a good workout. sounded terrible! the sound dispersion was amazing, too bad the sound coming out of it was like a loud cheap radio ! got on the phone with bose and they were helpful! went out and bought the tone match system along with a dbx 32 channel eq . after a couple of panicked hours was able to produce the exact same sound as the tone match with the dbx by pulling down the frequency from 250-630. returned the tone match!the only reason i bought the Ll model 2 in the first place was i had no room to store any speaker bins. anyway it works ok the show sounded great. but you can get a lot better sound for half the money if you buy almost any good sound system with horns and good bins. i kept the L1 but it's just ok.

Very happy

By Steve

from Portland, OR

I use the L1 for electric and acoustic guitar and vocals. I used to have the old model and upgraded to the new one with the T1 controller. I'm very happy with the system, I get consistent tone at every gig no matter what the room size is, from rehearsal to bars to outdoors. I mic a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp for electric guitars, go direct into it for acoustic guitar and vocals. ToneMatch presets are a great way to get the most out of your other gear. I've never had a better or more consistent electric guitar tone on stage. The best thing about it is that you get great sound everywhere, instead of in one or two spots. It really does what they say and no other speaker I've ever used can match what this thing does. It's expensive, but for what it does, nothing can come close, for me it's a high value product. If it were lost or stolen I'd buy another right away. I won't go back to the old way of using monitors, I'm spoiled with being able to hear everything and everyone in the band loud and clear. (We all use them.)

You will not be disappointed!!!

By Joshua Ray

from North Liberty, Ia

This system never ceases to amaze me! I own 4 full sets of equipment, and the Bose L1 Model II is the latest addition to my business. Let me just say that I will never buy anything but Bose from now on! Clear sound that cuts through the biggest crowd, and seems to carry further than any other system I've used! Buy it!!!

L1 + tone match

By Chuck C

from Danbury CT

I really can't say enough about this product! I have been so enamored that I went back and purchased an L1 compact as well. Also awesome. If you are looking for the best quality vocals and acoustic guitar PA system, look no more. Plenty of power, but I will warn you, you will never again be satisfied with a traditional PA set up. The tone match engine is extraordinary with it's features and match ups to mics and instruments. I play in a 3 piece Acoustic band, 2 guitars, 3 vocals, all through the model 11, and sometimes use the compact as a guitar amp, and mic the kick drum. Purchased from Orange Ct store. Those guys rock, and know what they are talking about. At the end of the day we set up and breakdown in minutes. No more cables and speaker cabs, power amps, racks and stuff. Amazing product!

Perfect sound, Perfect mix

By Little one

from Marysville, Wa

This system has crystal clear delivery and still has that bass punch. I play in a small band in usually smaller areas but these things amaze everytime, with very limited feedback and that kick everybody looks for

Amazing for small-medium Gigs or Shows!

By Eric Henrichsen

from Vancouver, WA

This system is so amazing. One of these is amazing already, but TWO will cause a riot. I've used this system for a couple of small gigs and even a musical! The clarity this system gives is unreal. Now the whole audience can have the best seat in the house. This is a must for any lounge, coffee house, or small stage. Any band doing private gigs should definitely invest in a pair of these with the accompanied Tone Match mixer that runs easily though this system!

TOP OF THE LINE

By D/JPAPACHARLIE-S.C.

from winnsboro,sc

I'm a party d/j and we use the L1 model 2 system with 2 base units with a 14 channel mixing board. We run all our mics. and computers from the mixing board and all our programs get high reviews. We advise using an line conditioner on this type system. If you're looking for a fast setup, excellent clean sound and won't brake your back or budget system I would suggest you try this one.

Won't do without it!

By Calvin

from Knox, IN

I know that Bose wants to sell each band member a L1 Model II but you don't have to do that. First off we were not impressed with the tonematch box. Are style is Country we don't need Heavy Metal volumes. Were a 5 piece band with vocals, lead guitar, steel guitar, rhythm guitar, bass, and drums. We bought 1 with 2 subs just to see how it would go without the tonematch box it limits you to 4 channels. We use it with a 16 channel mixer, BBE Sonic Maximiser, EQ, Reverb unit, and a Sabine Feedback Suppressor. We have played many shows and were very happy with it and we get alot of compliments on are sound. But I would recommend a feedback suppressor if your using alot of mics on your stuff and try to stay at least 5 ft away from it. We play to crowds up to 300 hundred people and in the future were going to buy 1 more for bigger places and outdoor stuff. Its so nice to not carry in the huge speakers anymore we get set up and tore down so much faster and we even set are volume levels without walking off the stage now. If you need modest volumes using just 1 Bose L1 Model II, its worked great for us so far. It may not make Bose happy, but try going out of the box like we did and use it with a regular mixer.

Suprising sounds for sure

By Randy Hiatt

from Lynnwood

I get to play with this device and as a digital/midi drummer my needs/expectations for quality sound is seldom met (unless recording or using headphones or a monster PA). This thing is amasing. Nothing I have experienced has come close, my cymbals are like transparent breaking glass, the sub woofer lows are smooth and never over bearing but always rich and fat. I gave it only a 4 because there is an issue with it not being a stereo imaging system (oh and maybe price) but rather a mono device best suited when used one for each musician, this leaves all that 3D/stereo processing in the lurch (sadly). But that said the sound seems to beg forgiveness ;) Randy
