Percy Fletcher was a well-known British composer in the early 1900s and was noted for his pioneering efforts for brass band (efforts that were later taken up by other composers, such as Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Gordon Jacob). This exhilarating work is described by the composer as a comedy overture and has been adapted here for the modern symphonic band by Brant Karrick.
