Overview

This pre-war inspired herringbone dreadnaught has it all, including a deep cutaway and a factory installed Fishman Presys Blend pickup system. The instrument's already great sound and great looks have made this one of the most desirable acoustic guitars in production today. The cutaway offers greater accessibility to the higher frets, while the pickup system adds to its overall versatility.

Blueridge is an offshoot of the South San Francisco-based Saga Musical Instrument Company. Blueridge specializes in "traditional" guitars that offer today's player vintage styling with modern performance at a level of quality and price that compares favorably to historic guitars. Each instrument is the result of detailed research and is carefully crafted at the Blueridge factory. Consistency is evident throughout, from the fretwork to the intricate inlays that adorn each Blueridge headstock.

Fishman Presys Blend Under-Saddle Transducer
The compact sophisticated Fishman Presys Blend system features Volume, Bass, Mid and Treble controls, a Phase switch, and a built-in tuner with LED display. It also include a pre-wired Fishman Sonicore pickup, low-battery indicator, low profile control knobs, and best of all, a built-in microphone with mic blend level control. Its unique pivot design makes it easy to access the battery compartment.

Comments about Blueridge Historic Series BR-160CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Guitar Center can attest to it, I ordered 3 different guitars before this one in this price range and returned all 3 of them. This is the only one that passed the test. Granted it`s not a high end guitar, but that does not mean it is not a good guitar. IT is a solid wood Spruce/Rosewood guitar for under 1000 bucks! What`s not to like?

Comments about Blueridge Historic Series BR-160CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

All I can say is wow. This is an awesome deal. I hear undertones on mine that I have only heard on dreads 3 times the money.

The neck is a lot narrower than most acoustics which gives it a bit of an electric feel. The craftsmanship is awesome. I can't find a single place that I wish they would have taken a bit more time on.

The only two things that I have a problem with are the bridge pins and the pickguard. The supplied bridge pins are plastic. I immediately replaced them with bone pins and the guitar came alive. Also, the pickguard is a good quality pickguard but it has to be the ugliest one I have ever seen. With the headstock inlay being of such high quality, the pickguard actually detracts from the overall look of the guitar.

Overall, I am quite pleased with the axe. GRRRRREAT tone for 1/3 the price.

    BR-160CE is Crystal Clear

Comments about Blueridge Historic Series BR-160CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Well this Blueridge is different than my other one. The neck is thin and not as wide, making it fast. I had to set up the action on mine, as it came a little high for my taste. The notes are crystal clear and tight. Cuts through, but doesn't ring forever. I would say this is more of a recording guitar, or a second guitar for leads, fills and fill in with another guitar. It would also work well in small venues where feedback is an issue.
