I went out on a limb and bought this mic based on positive reviews from others. This mic is very well built -- higher quality than other similar value mics. The sound is very true and consistent across the low and high range. It does not seem to add any coloration to one's voice. Great clariy and dynamic. Feedback was almost non existent. Microphone is extremely quiet and does not cause "pops" even when singing close to the mic. It does not feel "strained" when volume is turned up. Handling is top notch, maybe a bit heavy for some but I like the feel. I do not give it five stars due to the fact that I have not tried all the MICS out there but it beats all the Shures, EV's, Seinheisers that I have tried. For the price, it's the best mic overall that I have come across. Makes me want to get their condenser mics for recording.

I first got the encore 200 after I was disappointed in the low output of my encore 100. I loved the clarity and detail of the 100 but all the gain required to get an adequate signal made it conducive to picking up everything else on stage and consequently caused feedback. Since the clarity and detail were so nice for the money I bought a encore 200 because in the ad, the company implied that phantom power would fix the output issue of the encore 100. Unfortunately, even after using the standard 48v phantom power on my Soundcraft mixer to my Bose speakers, the signal of the 200 was also surprisingly weak and I actually believe I heard less detail and clarity with the encore 200. The blues are extremely pretty mics with some impressive attributes. However, considering the availability of countless less problematic options for similarly and even lower priced mics, my advice is to pass these pretty mics by. They may be great for very quiet, low noise situations, but if you are playing clubs and noisy restaurants, forget it. All that glitters is not gold. I went back to my Sennheiser e835s.

Comments about Blue enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

I bought two of these most gorgeous microphones! They smoke any live performance microphone out there, once you get used to how these mics work. If you back away, you can converse with your band members, and nothing comes through the speakers, until you get around two, or three inches away. They reject any stage sound that most microphones pick up, and the clarity and power these put out, is at least double that of the very most popular microphone that we all know to be the standard! I use mine for studio and live vocals, with the phantom 48 volts, (which all boards have today), and needless to say, my vocals are the most prominent, dominating factor in our all original hard rock group! Finally I have a mic that will cut through everything like butter, and our fans know all the lyrics and sing with us! The only thing that you might not like about this gorgeous machine, is that it is in fact so well made, and finished, that you might be afraid to scratch it or get a smudge on it! It is very very Rico Suave!!!!

      An Amazing Mic

      By Ryo Asano

      from Sacramento, California

Comments about Blue enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

I Know Blue's quality from their condenser Microphones, after much research I decided this would be my new stage mic. I have to say I am VERY impressed! I use this mic for vocals, and the detail is amazing, and how quiet it keeps the atmosphere around me is almost mind blowing! Feedback is almost non existent with this mic, unless you are facing the mic to the source within a few feet. Pretty much any sound source outside of a 3 foot radius around this mic(guessed estimation) will not be picked up, which in a dynamic microphones case is fantastic! Also this mic looks phenomenal to top everything off! This mic is really an awesome choice for a performing vocalist, I HIGHLY recommend it!

      Fantastic Microphone!

      By Elmer

      from Lawrenceville, Georgia

Comments about Blue enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

I play the bass and sing lead vocals in a church youth group band. our stage is not very wide, we have the drums in the center of the stage, two electric guitars, an acoustic guitar and one other vocalist. I have used the Shure sm58 for about 7 years and recently was getting feedback problems and the bass would bleed into the mic a lot. I purchased the Blue enCore 200 and the difference it has made has been phenomenal! I'll be honest, if you give it to much gain, it will feedback but the gain over the sm58 is better. I never really liked the way my voice sounded when I would sing but this mic gives the voice a very natural sound without adding too much mid level boom. It gives your voice a nice, studio like sound. I love it. its rejection to all the instruments bleed in is great. I am very happy with this purchase. I went ahead and bought the Blue enCore 100 for our back up vocalist and her voice sounded so great! Blue has made a great product line with these mics. the bring the studio sound quality to the stage!

      Blue enCORE 200

      By Sari

      from Lake City, FL

Comments about Blue enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

We purchased 4 of these for our small church and we love them. I have a Shure Beta 87A that I love. I was surprised to find that this mic, the Blue enCORE 200 is very similar in quality, sound, and feel. My likes: sound quality is great; solid feel to it; unique look; picks up from a quite a distance. My dislikes: can feed back easily, but proper placement of speakers/monitors can stop that.

      impressive!

      By The sound guy

      from Sacramento, California

Comments about Blue enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

I was working with a singer this weekend whose voice had a hard time cutting through the mix at a smaller venue with all kinds of acoustic challenges. Tried many different ways to boost his vocal up, but it just wasn't cutting it. Luckily I was able to get him to put his lucky mic away and give this a try. I had to talk it up a bit, but actually, it was the first time I was giving it a try, which did nothing but put the pressure on. End result? Clean- His voice cut right through without any adjustments, and he sounded silky. I had no idea this mic would work so well. The whole active dynamic thing made me nervous- And at the end of the night, I was happy, and he was happy and ready to permanently replace his lucky mic.

      Not for Metal/Hard Rock

      By Ratchet

      from San Francisco, CA

Comments about Blue enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

My singer recently purchased this mic on a whim. First off it feels really great in your hand, built very sturdy. However - this mic live in a club sounded very bad. Too mid range peaky sounding and at times shrill. No presence. Feedback was a huge problem. I sing backups and my mic (was provided by club) sounded better and fuller. Also if you are a screamer, stay away from this one. Phantom power feature just adds gain and a cool light. with phantom on we had to disengage low cut filter @ FOH board. not sure why but it helped???? weird huh? vids on our site of this mic performing badly (not the band, the mic HA!)

      Bleu encore 200

      By Michael DeMichele

      from Mechanicsburg pa

Comments about Blue enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

I have been recording for 20 years now and have a project studio. I have just about every type of mic available. When I saw this Blue encore 200 I had to try it. I'll go a bit out on limb here but for a vocal mic at this price you cannot afford not to have one. The best sounding hand held I have ever used. Even amatuers will sound pro. A good channel strip is key to shaping the sound-but at least the underlying quality is there to start with
