Comments about Blue Baby Bottle Microphone:

Paired this up with a Tele through an old Fender deluxe reverb amp, and it was pure bliss. This mic brought out the best qualities in the amp, and multiple tracks stacked up very nicely. One note - condenser mics are susceptible to handling anyway, but this mic seems to be especially sensitive. As long as you use the included shock mount, you should be OK, but keep an ear on any low-low-low frequencies. This mic will pick up low frequency muck you may not want in the mix.

Comments about Blue Baby Bottle Microphone:

For the price this Baby Bottles rocks. With that being said I'd like to add that it picks up a whole lot of sound so with the right placement vocals sound very clear and crisp with a simple eq doing the trick to whatever frequency you feel needs to be adjusted. It mounted on my stand quite nicely and the look is not over the top yet slick.

Comments about Blue Baby Bottle Microphone:

I bought this mic for lead vocals after trying out virtually every microphone at my local music store. I had the money ready to purchase ALMOST any mic they had available. There were flashier models with price tags suggesting a better product but I let my ears decide and took home the Baby Bottle.
When it comes to purchasing microphones, I find you have to use and trust your own judgment. What works for me and other reviewers might not work for you and your unique needs. You can waste a lot of time and money going off suggestions of others but until you get some quality time with these instruments you just don't know for sure.
Go try them out and when you find one you like, make sure and order it from Musician's Friend-they have the best coverage and return policies you can get anywhere and the rare times you have to deal with a company about something negative, you want it to be a positive experience.

Comments about Blue Baby Bottle Microphone:

I use this with a 2-610. It has much less highs than my Rode NTK, but none of the harshness. I use a reference track with a vocal done on a U87 --> Avalon 2022 and have no trouble at all getting my vocal tracks to sound similar. For someone looking for a round, warm vocal, this is the mic. For high-end sparkle, I'd look somewhere else.

Comments about Blue Baby Bottle Microphone:

I have owned and used this mic for years, and it is one of my favorite mics for a lot of uses, including vocals and acoustic instruments. This is a no-nonsense, no-frills mic that gives you a natural sound with a minimum of eq boosting or "hyping."

The frequency response of this mic is virtually flat, so it is not what most people think of as a vocal mic, but what it does give you is a very natural sound which can later be manipulated appropriately in the mix with eq if necessary.

For people looking for a vocal mic with a strong boost around 3 KHz or so (like most large diaphragm condensers engineered for vocals), this is probably not what you're looking for. However, if you're looking for something more versatile or "old-school" sounding--sort of a happy medium between a typical (modern) large diaphragm condenser and a ribbon mic (but less problematic and quirky)--than this is a great mic at a tremendous price.

I also own a Neumann TLM-103 but virtually never use it. I use the Baby Bottle constantly. The Neumann is a decent mic but too hyped and shrill for my taste. The Baby Bottle is very mellow and even and natural--pleasing to my ears.

Another plus about regarding this mic is that it is very low-noise and it can handle very high spl.

In short, this mic is a very high quality, neutral-sounding mic with a very simple, no frills design, using a quality capsule. IMO, it's exactly what the doctor ordered for someone starting out on a budget who wants something versatile and doesn't want to skimp on quality too much.

In my opinion, for someone who is recording more than just vocals and who only wants to by one condenser mic, this is the one to buy.

        Can't be beat for $400

        By James Hare

        from Reno NV

Comments about Blue Baby Bottle Microphone:

I bought this mic for it's claimed "vintage sound" aka midrange presence and a gentle roll-off on the high end. Having said that, I didn't expect it to sound good on as many sources as it does! Acoustic guitar, male and female vocals, electric guitar, drum room mic, ALL GREAT! I bought this at the same time as a Blue Bluebird since they have somewhat "opposing" character/freq. response, but I couldn't find a source that the Bluebird sounded better with so I sold it and kept this! Everything I record with this mic sits in the mix much better than any other mic I've used in this price range. Even when you buy a "better" mic than the Baby Bottle, you'll still be grabbing this mic quite often because its a great mic.

Classic tone, but NEWBS BE WARNED.

Comments about Blue Baby Bottle Microphone:

Buyer beware! If you want a vintage, mid-heavy, semi-muddled sound, then by all means this is the mic for you, however if you want a more modern neuman-esk Mic, buy a bluebird. The baby bottle does not pick up the high ambience and syllabus frequencies that make modern vocal standout in the mix. If you're looking to capture pop/hip-hop vocals, this mic will SUCK.I'm running this mic through the Great River ME-1NV (a $1200 Neve clone particularly good for acoustic guitar and vocals). I LOVE the modern sound of the bluebird matched with a little bit of impedance to give it more edge. The baby bottle can't get that edge, it's eq is bumped at a considerable lower frequency and then it rolls off in high frequencies so much that it won't even pick up my laptop fan whirring 3 feet away. In the end, I ended up replacing this make with the road a Rode NT-1A (a mic that's smooth across the board and is colored with a hint of low-frequency distortion). I'd suggest looking at the AT 2020, bluebird, and the Rode NT-1A before this Mic - better yet, bring your preamp to your local Guitar Center and demo them before you make a purchase.P.S. Newbies, please spend your money on a quality preamp before you buy this. A good preamp will make any mic sound 10 times better.

This Mic Is a One Mic Show

        By Jamiesjammin-8ewI.

        from white, ga

Comments about Blue Baby Bottle Microphone:

i am a multi-instrumentalist, solo artist. I record multiple instruments in my recordings along with vocals. the baby bottle by blue is an incredible mic because the sound quality is incredible and it is also a versatile mic. i mic my acoustic guitar with it, then i mic my vocals, but i have also used it to mic a solo performance of just me singing and the guitar simultaneously. the recording was awesome and i put it on my newest cd. my friends can't believe how clear the acoustic guitar sounds through this mic and the vocals are super crisp. you can also mic amps effectively and other instruments. i have been using this mic in my studio for 7+ years now and have been so satisfied, the thought of buying another mic for vocal and acoustic guitar recording has never even crossed my mind.
