  • So long SM57's

As reviewed by ADAM on 8/25/2014

This may be the best instrument mic I have used yet. They have all the characteristics that everyone loves about the Shure Sm57 but with a warm sound. They are well constructed, crisp highs, just the perfect amount of mids, but there is this subtle warmth on the bottom that isn't present on the SM57, the e609, the e906, or even on the famed I5. Feedback resistance is wonderful as well, they have a very tight pattern and nearly have to be in front of a high SPL sound source to cause feedback. Off axis, these mics hardly pick up anything creating excellent isolation from other nearby instruments or amplifiers. that little bit of warmth on the bottom is really noticable too with the proximity effect, it really comes alive on the bottom up close on it. I am starting to phase out all my SM57's that have became a mainstay in my collection for so many years. Hello 100i

  • nice mic great value

As reviewed by Mark Millan on 5/24/2012

Hello, my name is Mark, I play guitar and bought this mic about a year ago, I compared it to many other condenser and dynamic mics when I was looking for a new studio mic. I tested it on a guitar cabinet and got exellent results, better than any other brand and comparable to the Sennhiezer MD421. It has an open sound mids are scooped and the tone is awsome, you can bypass the eq on some mixers for a better sound. I recomened this mic for anyone who wants to mic guitar cabinets.

  • Very Solid Mic

As reviewed by Barry on 4/8/2011

I bought this mic relatively recently and have had the chance to use it several times per week. Was initially interested in a Shure mic as it is the "industry standard" however the salesman talked me into this mic for the same price. Man am I pleased. Have used it as a vocal mic, so I can?t speak to how it would or wouldnt work as an instrument mic, but I am very happy with my purchase. Picks up my vocals whether close to the mic or from a distance. Highly Recommended.
