Product Information

Multi-pattern condenser mic.

The Kiwi, Blue's top-of-the-line Class A Discrete microphone model, features 9 selectable polar patterns including cardioid, figure-8, omni, and selections in between. This is achieved in a careful, unique manner using Blue's double-backplate capsule. This unique capsule is measured in an anechoic chamber to ensure optimum performance. The capsule assembly is mounted to the Kiwi Microphone's body with a mold-injected rubber stem to help isolate unwanted rumble. The Kiwi is a microphone that provides enough options to satisfy the needs of even the most critical recordist! Requires phantom power.

Great mic with a sweet sound

I use the Blue Kiwi everyday in my recording studio for voice, 2nd kick mic, amp micing (with 20db pad to get it closer), acoustic guitar, and even room or overhead uses for drums. I have actually used this when recording vocals for NAS, Bizzy Bone, and Bow Wow, and it has become a staple to the success of our studio. The sound was professional and all the clients were pleased how the mic would pick up gentle nuances of the high end without being harsh at all. I am in the process of buying another and I will use them both for stereo overheads and many other applications.

Outstanding Mic

I am a Blue fan of sorts, I was partial to Blue's Mouse for commercial/TV voiceover until I got this one. A nice full big clear sound...I still love my Mouse for heavily processed radio voiceover, but the Kiwi is my mic of choice for high quality TV and production voiceover every time!
