I bought the BLUE Baby Bottle last year for my home recording studio after reading great reviews. The reviews are spot on! This mic has amazing clarity for vocals (I'm a male tenor) and captures my Taylor 714BCE acoustic guitar's most subtle sounds. Run through my Focusrite TwinTrak Platinum Pro it's simply amazing! I also use it along with a Rode NT1000 and have found that the two complement each other...the Rode being a little darker and the Baby being a more transparent. I couldn't be happier with this mic. In fact, I'm saving for a second one!
This mic is a solid state class A discrete condenser mic. The mic provides an almost transparent signal (minimal coloring). I tried this mic on vocals and to be honest I have used better, but this mic really excelled when I used it to mic a 4X12 cab. I usualy use a sm57 for a 4X12 cab, but I decided to try this mic and I tell you I may never go back. This mic captures the sound of a live cab very well without having to crank the volume to 11.
