Overview

The American Elite Stratocaster is a progressive guitar for 21st century musicians. Designed for players who push the envelope every night, this guitar is a true performer that leaves others in the dust with eye-catching style, exceptional feel and versatile sound from the very first moment you plug it in and play.

Featured on all American Elite instruments, the 4th generation Noiseless pickups are only available in this series, and represent a quantum leap in pickup design. Combining vintage-style sound with effectively noise-free performance, these are the pinnacle of Fender’s noiseless pickup designs, offering pristine cleans and fat, overdriven tones that scream with pure rock ‘n’ roll power.

Designed for fast playing and effortless position changes, the compound profile neck is ideal for all playing styles. A modern C-shape at the nut, the profile morphs along the length of the neck to a modern, D-shaped profile at the updated neck heel, providing plenty of comfortable support for fret hand antics. Locking, all short-post tuning machines provide increased break angle at the bone nut for buzz-free performance. The smooth two-point modern tremolo adds emotive touches to your performance without sacrificing your tuning.

Fender is renowned for head-turning style, and this guitar is no different—from newly refined, sleek and deeper contours that hug the player’s body to the black chrome headstock logo and large pearloid fret markers this instrument will dazzle the audience with elegant style. The American Elite Stratocaster is a bold guitar for the brave new guitarist who is setting out to cross uncharted musical terrain. Includes a redesigned Elite Molded Case with TSA locks to provide increased protection for your cherished instrument.

Great Guitar, I love it!!!

Comments about Fender American Elite Maple Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have owned several American Strats, but this one is the best one so far. The neck is exceptional. The C to D design is really nice. However, I'm most impressed with he pickups. Every other Strat or Tele that I own/owned, I immediately replace the pickups becuase the stock Fender pickups are so noisy and not very good sound wise (especially the bridge pickup). These 4th generation noisless pickups are absolutely amazing. They are super quiet and have a really great sound. I play this guitar in all 5 positions whereas I only played my other Strats in 2 or 3 positions. I haven't quite figured out the S-1 switching yet, and am undecided on the sounds, but it's just another 5 options for the pickups and sounds. I bought the "Sky Burst Metallic" finish, and I absolutely love it! I hate to admit it, but part of the reason I bought this particular model was so I could get this finish. It looks different colors in different light situations. I get comments about the color/finish all the time. The case is also something to write about. The TSA approved case is great and rivals the TSA cases that I bought for my EVH and Charvel San Dimas Guitars. Overall, it's a great guitar from Fender. If I had one complaint, it would be the price. I think the price, even in Guitar Center is a little steep, but you can't have everything the way you want it I guess. Great Guitar, I love it!!!

AMAZING

Comments about Fender American Elite Maple Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

As long as I have been playing guitars, I have never liked strats...until I played the American Elite. Plays like butter, gets great tone, and looks beautiful (I got the sky blue burst). I also have never been a fan of maple fretboards until I played this guitar. Perfect for the serious musician that records and gigs often.

Product is awesom but pathetic shopping experience

Comments about Fender American Elite Maple Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Based on my shopping experience I would recommend not to buy anything from Guitar center (online or shipping at home). It will be better to buy it from some other store or directly from Fender if possible.

Comments about Fender American Elite Maple Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I've owned and played many different Strats, this one is by far the best one I've ever played. I sold my favorite Am.Std many years ago, but always regretted it. The Elite came along and I had to check it out. From the moment I picked it up in the store I could tell it was a great guitar. Fender has taken a classic, and drastically improved upon it. From the satin finished morphing C to D shaped neck, and improved heel, to the new noiseless pickups. This guitar is so much fun to play. So much thought and effort was taken to make a great guitar and, and it shows. Great weight, improved contours, easily adjustable truss rod, newly designed case, I can't find anything I don't like about it. I have no idea how they will find a way to out do this creation.

Comments about Fender American Elite Maple Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

The new Elite Strat is definitely a nice machine. The new elements seem like good changes in the evolution of the Strat. If you're all about old school...this ain't your guitar. It looks new, it feels a little different, and sounds less "Straty" than some. The extra set of sounds available from the volume pot button strike me as interesting, but not all that great...at least thus far. I find myself sticking to the tried and true...but I've only played it for a few days. If you like your old vintage quacky Strat sound, the new 4th generation noiseless pickups may not completely satisfy you. I'm still deciding, but it's definitely a trade off...no PU buzz vs a slightly flatter sound. I have noticed that the PUs are responsive to attack. Hit it hard, and it starts to quack more. Go soft, and it will flatten the sound. The satin finish on the compound radius neck is really nice. Neck feels great. Comes with 42s. Mine is headed over to my favorite guitar repair tech to get it set up nicely with a floating trem. Not exactly perfectly set up out of the box. Neck has a little too much relief, action is high, trem is high. Fret finish is pretty good. I've felt others at the store that I would not have bought b/c of the rough fret edgework. So far, I'm very happy with it. It's the antithesis of the roadworn/vintage style. It's new, modern, and a little different.

Comments about Fender American Elite Maple Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Love this instrument, particularly the additional tones you can get with the S-1 switch. This guitar was only available online and marked down almost $400 from the usual price due to its "blemished" condition. I have zero regrets getting it and can totally live with the scratches, but based just on the online description and provided pictures, it was hard to know exactly what part of it was damaged. So I was a bit anxious about what was wrong with it until I got the actual instrument to look over and found some scratches along the side for which there were no pictures of. Again, totally fine with it and I don't at all think Guitar Center was trying to "hide" the scratches; but it would be nice if they provided specific close-up pictures of the damaged areas and/or provide textual descriptions of the issues so people know exactly what they're getting themselves into. In any case, "blemished" is the way to go if you want to save some money!
