Comments about ESP LTD EC-401V Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

I just got this today and I'm lovin' so far. I like the extra jumbo frets and I'm playin' it really hard.
Vintage sounding pickups are a huge plus. I think you really get a big band for your buck on this one.
I plan on using this as my main gigging guitar for my band, The Hallelujah Blues Band, check us out on the internet.

Comments about ESP LTD EC-401V Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

An incredible value. I have played several "high end/expensive" guitars. While it is not quite at that level, I am guessing none of your friends would ever hear the difference. And for under a grand, best value out there. Great quality, nice materials, looks great, sounds awesome...

Comments about ESP LTD EC-401V Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

I purchased the EC 401V in gloss black as a used item from GC. This one is perfect and doesn't look like it was played much if any. I bought this guitar because I own it's "Big Brother, the EC 1000 in flame maple with the SD pickups. I love that EC-1000 but when I saw this one at a good price with the DiMarzio PAF buckers, I had to give it a try. And I'm glad I did. The bridge pup is great for higher gain and the neck cleans up very well. The p'ups do have a different tone than the SD's, Both p'ups are articulate and responsive. The neck is good, fairly thin and fairly flat same as the EC 1000. This guitar doesn't have the belly cut-out like the EC 1000 is is at least 1 lb heavier. It looks good too with a very dark rosewood finger-board.
All in all I like this guitar and would recommend it. But I'm surprised at how similar the 401 & 1000 are priced for new. If you're on the fence on this, I think the EC-1000 is a better guitar. It's more ergonomic for sure, the JB is a hotter bridge p'up (to my ear) and it has locking tuners (and some bling which I don't mind at all).
