Great sounding little amp. I especially like the clean bright and crunch settings. Built in effects sound very good and gives this product more bang for the buck. The ISF eq works well. I am really impressed with the sound quality.

MP3 input makes it possible to use this amp as a stereo reference monitor. You can also "Y" out from your guitar and run one channel through the amp's input and another channel through a stereo processor pedal and into the MP3 input for a MASSIVE stereo sound!

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 20W 2x10 Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

The amp itself is great, no complaints there. Six voicing a with 4 levels of reverb 4 levels of delay, and 4 various effects. The only thing I woul want added is bass treble and mids, although if you switch the preset to crunch or supercrunch or overdrive the bass and stuff is already added in, I'm just picky because I want to get that Metallica crunch. The downside is if you have a Mac CPU the CPU software is pretty bad, takes way to long to access, and the recording level is not great.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 20W 2x10 Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

I've had plenty of amps over three decades but this little gem is a beast! I have no idea how Blackstar makes this amp sound so big with stereo sound. Delays literally sound like they are coming from different areas in the room. Chorus, Reverb and other effects sound great too. The only tone knob is the ISF but that's all you need with the tone knobs on your guitar. I have a Blackstar tube mini-stack as well that I love. Blackstar was born from a few Marshall techs. .

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 20W 2x10 Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

I am just returning to playing and I wanted something cheap and portable but with the most versatility and best sound possible. Thought I'd end up with one that sounded like a wounded dog barking into a coffee can- this amp does SO MUCH MORE than they did back in the '90s- and sounds SO MUCH BETTER! [ I did get a Boss BD-2 Blues Driver but that only improves a really nice amp!)

Great power for 20W. The dual speaker stereo really makes the sound big, and there's SO much control over the voicing and effects (easy to learn too). The clean settings take you from a smooth, warm jazz tone up through bright acoustic and crisp, twangy country sounds. With crunch and bright clean you can actually get a really nice, "tubey" blues sound that hints of Stevie Ray Vaughan (HINTS, I said!). You really have to play around with the controls but it becomes intuitive. [One suggestion: don't start with the reverb- the right pickup selection (neck = smooth; bridge = crisp; for the newbies), combined with tone and ISF setting goes a long way. Then, if you nail the chorus and delay styles and rates, you only need to soften the edges a tiny bit with subtle reverb. BTW- the reverb selections sound GREAT- if you put on a wide chorus and use the TAP button to get it really slow, then add stadium reverb-- the bottom just drops out! It gets so huge and warm! 5/5 STARS for sound!

Anyway, if you try one out, use the cleaner voices and really listen to the effects, one at a time. Get a clear idea of how authentic they sound and how the TAP rate and ISF level affect them.

Insider software only issue- I'm having trouble getting it to run properly- I'm no tech wiz. I can't seem to sit there poking at a keyboard (instead of playing!) for long enough to fix it!

Also- many of the patches available from the online community won't upload to the ID Core 20 because this amp doesn't have a TVP selector (emulates different tubes). It's worth it if I can record and play over my tracks though!

I would definately buy this amp again.

What The Vox VT Amps Wanted To Be

This is the best solid state practice amp I've ever played. I discovered this little gem while playing a Squire Strat that I was buying for my son through a HT-1. I noticed the 10w version of this amp right next to the HT-1 so I gave it a try. I was very impressed with the variety of tones I was able to coax out of this amp. I decided to get the 20w version because I wanted the foot-switch (10w doesn't have one) It wasn't until I got home that I was really able to appreciate this amp. The effects are very usable and the delay actually sounded like it was coming from the other side of my room. The stereo feature contributes to this effect. One pleasant surprise with this amp is how well it plays with my Digitech RP500. I set the RP to the "Killer" setting, set the amp on "Clean Bright" with the gain at 1/4 and this amp just ripped some of the nastiest, tightest metal tones I've ever heard from a small amp. The Overdrive settings without the RP are great are their own. But the combo of both is amazing. I suppose this is due to the full range stereo speakers in this amp. Smooth Jazz tones? Yes! Country twang? Check. Excellent blues tones as well. Considering the versatility you get for the price, 5 stars all the way.
