I have a working rock band ... Sing, play keyboards and rhythm guitar and in smaller venues run our sound. I am not saying all that to blow my own horn, I am saying it to make a point. I need straight forward, great sounding, versatile gear that is quick and easy to set up, especially for my guitar amp, since i am so busy setting up sound, keyboard, etc.
This amp is great for rhythm or lead. It really blew me away. I kept looking for an modeling amp with all the features like built in effects, simple to set up and use, that had great clean sounds and a serious punch when needed . This Blackstar Id Core 100 has everything and more. What a great amp and at a great price. First show with it is this weekend and I am chompin at the bit. Fantastic modeling amp compared to others. REALLY ! Blackstar hit a home run with this little bad boy

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 100W 2x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

Just found one of these in a GC store and drove 200 miles to jump on it. It is the warmest sounding amp I have ever had.
It will cover any venue. Jazz, blues, country, rock, you name it. It is not just a metal rock amp.
The stereo is mind blowing. The overall tone and effects are excellent.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 100W 2x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

The true stereo sounds beautiful and rich. Even with headphones the sounds are huge and spacious. The effects also sound nice for built-ins. I play a lot of clean for practicing scales, arpeggios etc. and crunch/dirty tones for aggressive metal and so far I love this amp. I would absolutely recommend the ID Core 100.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 100W 2x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this as a practice amp. So far so good. It has lots of settings and presets. I could use it to gig in smaller venues since my Mesa is a bear to lug around. My only complaint, and why I didn't give it a 5 is that the expandable foot switch costs $100.00. I would definitely need that to gig with it. So far a solid amp for solid state.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 100W 2x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I use this for practice at home, and bought it after a great experience with the 10w idCORE that I keep in the computer room for quick practice sessions. I initially considered a 40 watt tube amp, but the built in looper and wide range of effects built into the idCORE made me decide to give it a shot.

This amp is replacing a Peavey Vypyr VIP3 and totally smashes the Vypyr in ease of use and sound quality. The extra knobs on the Blackstar make it so much easier to tweak than navigating through menus and multi-function push-and-turn knobs on the Peavey.
It sounds loud enough to play over a drummer, and Blackstar advertises it as gig-able but I haven't tried it.

I knocked off a star of sparse documentation and the somewhat fiddly Blackstar Insider software. If you don't take the default directories when you install Insider, you're going to have to poke around and move your downloaded amp profiles manually because the software won't see them. The instructions for the amp itself are just a couple loose pages with very basic info on them. If you're like me, you'll probably wind up learning most of the functions of the amp by wading through various Youtube videos. Overall, I'm very happy with my choice!

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 100W 2x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

Have had this for a few weeks. Did one gig with it. Yes all the sounds are nice. Personally I think a lot of power get used up in effects maybe. I can dime both volumes and sit in front if it at home. (With only mild gain) I found it a bit on the weak side with a trio. Kept having to boost the volume. It would be fine for small venues. Perhaps bumping the gain if you are into distortion it would hang but I don't play metal or distortion.
