Overview

The highly portable Blackstar HT-1GC offers maximum tube tone at minimum volume; an ideal combination for practicing. These all-tube, 1W amplifiers feature two channels (Normal & Overdrive) and Blackstar's patented ISF control, which gives you access to a wide range of sound, from the USA to the UK and everywhere in-between.

The innovative HT-1 offers unbelievable tube sound in a compact format. Using the dual-triode 12AU7, wired in a push-pull circuit, produces the crunch and break-up characteristics of a traditional 100-Watt amp at a much lower volume. Switch from normal to overdrive at the touch of a button. The patent-applied-for ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit gives you near-infinite adjustment over the characteristics of the HT1's tone. Add in the 8" speaker, and an 8 Ohm speaker output, and you have everything you need for practicing at home, in the studio or backstage.

Has a following, but it didn't do it for me

Comments about Blackstar HT1 1W Guitar Tube Combo Amp:

I get it, it's a 1w tube amp. It has a tiny speaker which keeps bedroom volumes in check... but it just didn't really do it for me. I was def looking for the practice amp solution, and i have some 1x12 cabinets, but I just didn't find this amp as inspiring to play through as I had hoped. Great following. You can add awesome tubes. You can run an extension cab and pedals. I wanted a bit more from the EQ, it didn't really do much to me. I didn't get the sense I was playing something close to a Fender, and then something close to a Marshall the next minute... just sounded like a lunchbox with a speaker. I played the Fender Super Champ X2 and it was different ball park. It's a modeling amp, so, sure, it has more features and is a tiny bit more (Head vs head, it's $50), but I personally liked it for my needs a LOT better which is to run a 1x12 cab. The Super Champ is loaded with Groove Tubes as well... not that that's a HUGE thing, but they are a decent tube. If you want a tiny amp for your bookshelf, totally worth looking at! Again, 3 start, I think the Reverb might have gotten 3.5 stars.

Great little tube practice amp for the price!

Comments about Blackstar HT1 1W Guitar Tube Combo Amp:

For the money this is a great little practice tube amp. It gets plenty loud, especially for apartment dwellers, and the 8" inch speaker actually sounds quite good to my ears. Hooking it up to a 12" speaker cabinet you can rock out quite loud. I don't believe this particular model actually comes with an auxiliary input or a speaker-emulated line out as the specs here say, but it does come with a speaker output for a 4, 8, or 16 ohm speaker. It sounds good with both single coils and humbuckers. The ISF tone control works pretty well, but it would be nice to have separate bass and treble controls too. If you're looking for a good little tube amp for practicing I'd highly recommend this. If you're looking for a tube amp to play with a band I'd probably look elsewhere.

Comments about Blackstar HT1 1W Guitar Tube Combo Amp:

This amp is a budget friendly version of the traditional Blackstar HT Series HT-1 Combo. The HT-1GC replaces the ECC83 and ECC82 tubes for 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes and makes minor cosmetic changes(grill fabric)at a price that is approximately $80.00 less than the original. I am not sure if the same speaker (8" Blackbird 15w) is used in both models. Differences aside, this is still a great amp and even better with the lower price. This amp is head and shoulders over any combo in its price range and compares nicely with low wattage tube combos at any price.
