The Blackstar HT Soloist HT-60S is an ideal compact gigging amp for players who want the power to handle larger venues but in a 1x12 combo format. The HT-60S Soloist from the Blackstar Venue series has 2 channels and 4 modes that are augmented by an additional footswitchable solo boost. The solo boost will add up to 10dB of level boost and can be used in conjunction with the Body switch for fat, singing leads.

The Blackstar combo amplifier's Clean Channel has 2 modes, 'boutique' and 'modern' and its own Tone control provides a wide range of clean tones. The Voice switch reconfigures both the preamplifier voicing and gain structure, and the power amplifier damping, to reproduce either ringing Class A Performance in the 'boutique' mode, or very clean and tight Class AB tones in the 'modern' setting.

The Overdrive Channel on the Blackstar Venue tube amp has its own EQ section and a Voice switch that allows the character of the channel to be changed, providing a wide variety of overdriven tones. The channel is characterized by a tone that's high in gain, but lacks any of the detached top-end 'fizz' often found in similar designs. This is a result of the Blackstar HT-60S guitar amp's unique preamplifier and power amplifier shaping techniques, which cleans up the overdrive beautifully as the guitar volume is reduced. Even at the most extreme settings, the Blackstar amp's overdrive channel remains natural sounding. The ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) control is unique to Blackstar Amplification and represents a major step forward in tone shaping flexibility.

The ISF control shifts the response of the 3-control tone stack between a US-type response at one end, and at the other a UK-type response. The Blackstar amplifier has an infinite number of alternative tone choices in between the 2 extremes that would be otherwise unavailable.

The Blackstar HT Soloist 60 tube amp also features a completely natural sounding digital reverb, which is outstandingly musical on both clean and crunch tones and raises the benchmark for guitar amplifier specific reverb design. A Dark/Bright switch allows the overall reverb characteristics to be modified to suit different tastes and playing styles.

The UK's greatest little secret

By Russell

from New Orleans,LA

Comments about Blackstar HT Soloist 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I have been in the market for a nice tube amp under$1,000 for the past two years now and I think Iۡve found my amp. I did the digital modeling thing and got sick of that quite quickly. I soon found out about the UKۡs greatest secret Blackstar. The sound of this amp is massive and sweet at the same time. Some of the controls (mainly the ISF switch) are things I ve never seen on an amp ever and this was an area of concern. But after tweaking this baby I was able to pull of the sound of a Mesa boogie (US side) all the way to a Marshall( Brit side). The overdrive can do anything from a nice AC/DC crunch to a searing Megadeth or Tallica distortion. itۡs a natural distortion not like to fuzz you get on other amps. The clean side is great compared to other similar amps like the Peavey 6505(where the clean channel is a no show). The clean section on this amp is the closest that I have heard to a Fenderۡ_really. My only concern is the reverb is a little lacking for my taste ,but I have a pedal anyway for that. I hear that Blackstar is great with customer service, but I have not bought this amp yet so I donۡt know. After trying this baby out in store I canۡt wait to order one and bring it home. You should too.

Simply Amazing

By Mike Harris

from Queen Creek, AZ

Comments about Blackstar HT Soloist 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I'd been eyeing these amps for a while now and finally broke down and bout one. I had read a lot of great things and seen a lot of good demos and they were all 100% dead on. This amp is simply amazing. It's easily the best amp I've owned and one of the best I've ever played on. I've had lots of amps over the years, always buying or trading, trying to find "the one". I found it with the HT-60S. It's like a swiss army knife with how versatile it is. I love the emulated outs for quick recording or rehearsal through headphones (keeps the neighbors happy too). One thing that amazed me was how quiet this amp is. I'm not sure what magic is inside this thing but it should buzz like crazy for all the gain it has but it doesn't. Love it. Trust need this amp. If you've been hemming and hawing about buying one, pull the trigger. You won't be sorry.

Great amp but tube issues

Comments about Blackstar HT Soloist 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp has a fantastic sound. I have been playing for 8 years. My first amp was a peavey Vypyr 30. I bought the Sanpera II foot pedal that cost me more than the amp itself. The sound was fine until I started to play jazz. I realized that I needed to invest in a better amp to get the sound that I wanted. I decided on my budget and found that this amp was the one for me. It is on the heavy side but worth the lift up 4 flights of stairs. Six months in my only problem has been that the power fuse has blown. I had ordered new ones only to find, after blowing thru 3 fuses, that one of the tubes is bad. The lesson here is that if your power fuse is blown the cause is most likely a bad tube. I have 2 new tubes on order but I will have been without my amp for 4 weeks. I am hooked on the sound of the Solo 60 and my Peavey does not rock my boat anymore. I am happy that it is only the fuse but it tells me that there is maintenance required with a tube amp.
