Overview

The HT-5RS mini stack combines the HT-5RH head with two 1x12 Blackstar voiced speaker cabinets. The innovative Blackstar HT-5H guitar amp head offers unbelievable tube sound in a compact format. Using the dual-triode 12BH7 wired in a push-pull circuit, you get the crunch and break-up characteristics of a traditional 100-watt amp at a much lower volume. This design creates a sound rich in tube harmonics and compression even at the lowest levels.

The HT-5H's three-band EQ is augmented by the Infinite Shape Feature (ISF), which provides infinite new tone-shaping control. The emulated speaker output/headphone output offers both 1x12" and 4x12" settings - great for recording or practice.

Features
  • Power: 5Watt (tube)
  • Tubes: one 12AX7 (preamp) one 12BH7 (power amp)
  • Unique push pull power amp design
  • Award-winning HT Pedal preamp
  • Two footswitchable channels

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5RS Guitar Mini Stack:

First, I'll preface that I bought the original HT5, before Blackstar added reverb to the head. I've had the amp for over 6 years and I'm quite experienced with it. I went to a local store to purchase a new Les Paul and this little Blackstar was set up in the sound room. I plugged into it, jammed for 30 minutes, and the amp had to go home with me as well. It was an impulse buy but one of my best purchases.

This little stack is simply amazing. I was surprised at the tones (and volume) I could get out of 5 watts. Blackstar nailed it with this amp. When I bought mine, Blackstar was a little known company that made great effects pedals. Now they are a household name among musicians and a world class company.

Are you a player or a guitarist?

    By Kenneth Loseman

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5RS Guitar Mini Stack:

Some people will buy a $2500 LP Custom with a beautiful burst and a $1500 Marshall/Mesa and others will buy the $700 Gibson LPJ and the Blackstar HT-5 and mic it. The Custom/Marshall guy will look cooler but the LPJ/Blackstar guy will sound better. This is the perfect amp. It's the one you practice with AND gig with. I've been playing over 20 years, owned dozens of amps, and not one of them had the incredible tones, versatility, or portability of this little gem. If you can't find 'your tone' here, then it's probably not your amp OR your guitar.

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5RS Guitar Mini Stack:

This amp is amazingly capable of generating a wide range of tones at all volumes. Typically with tube amps lower volumes involve a reduction in tone. This amp does not have that problem. The amp features high-quality emulated outs for PA systems/headphones and recording purposes.

The styling is very impressive and build quality is very good.

I have owned this amp for about a year. I have played through many different amps, and none have sounded this great and have been in the price range. This amp is a steal.

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5RS Guitar Mini Stack:

This is a Great rig! Chimey, pristine cleans and can roar like a wide-open JCM 800, but at 80db. It's amazing that such a full, round tone can come from such a small package. Easy volume roll-on breakup for biting blues,"chugs" like a freight train and all the nuance is there. This will teach you to be a better player.I'll gig with this, like lugging a small suitcase and you get mic'ed or d.i.anyway for volume,it is loud enough for small clubs or group practice on it's own. I'm hard to impress, and have played a LOT of gear, but this is a winner.

          5 black stars

          By Andrew Shin

          from Indiana

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5RS Guitar Mini Stack:

For a 5 watt amp, this is pretty darn loud. I bought this as a practice amp; when I finally brought it home, I just cranked it all the way, and the first strum on my guitar was scary... I ended up having to stick a volume pedal in the effects loop (which I found to be effective in lowering the volume, but preserving most of the tone). Speaking of tone, this amp packs great variety from clean to bluesy crunch to heavy distortion. What I love the most about this amp is that every knob on the amp responds to every touch of your finger. Once you get used to the amp, it's very easy to know how to get the sound in your head (as it says on the brochure) by turning how much of which knob. There are definitely "greater" amps out there. But nothing will get you all the variety, functionality, and the cool look of a stack in your bedroom at this price.

          This is the one!

          By David Hoegler

          from Clearwater, FL

Comments about Blackstar HT Series HT-5RS Guitar Mini Stack:

I've had some classic amps throughout my playing history, Gibson Tube 40, Kustom 100, Fender Bassman, Marshall JCM 800 #2203, Marshall 30th Anniversary. Although there is nothing like the sound of a vintage Marshall stack, unless you have the privilege to play an open stadium, you just cannot crank them high enough to get that pure power tube saturation - the holy grail - that everyone craves. I waited two agonizing months for this new HT-5RS and believe me, it was worth every second. For a 5-watt amp, this bad boy is loud...the cleans are beautiful and bluesy, but kick on the overdrive and you WILL experience what a dimed tube stack is supposed to sound like! When they say find the sound in your head, believe it. This is the one!
