Blackstar Venue Series HT Soloist HT-60S 60W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp (110157088)
Availability:

The power and tube tone to satisfy the needs of larger venues, housed in a 1x12 combo.

The Blackstar HT Soloist HT-60S is an ideal compact gigging amp for players who want the power to handle larger venues but in a 1x12 combo format. The HT-60S Soloist from the Blackstar Venue series has 2 channels and 4 modes that are augmented by an additional footswitchable solo boost. The solo boost will add up to 10dB of level boost and can be used in conjunction with the Body switch for fat, singing leads.

The Blackstar combo amplifier's Clean Channel has 2 modes, 'boutique' and 'modern' and its own Tone control provides a wide range of clean tones. The Voice switch reconfigures both the preamplifier voicing and gain structure, and the power amplifier damping, to reproduce either ringing Class A Performance in the 'boutique' mode, or very clean and tight Class AB tones in the 'modern' setting.

The Overdrive Channel on the Blackstar Venue tube amp has its own EQ section and a Voice switch that allows the character of the channel to be changed, providing a wide variety of overdriven tones. The channel is characterized by a tone that's high in gain, but lacks any of the detached top-end 'fizz' often found in similar designs. This is a result of the Blackstar HT-60S guitar amp's unique preamplifier and power amplifier shaping techniques, which cleans up the overdrive beautifully as the guitar volume is reduced. Even at the most extreme settings, the Blackstar amp's overdrive channel remains natural sounding. The ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) control is unique to Blackstar Amplification and represents a major step forward in tone shaping flexibility.

The ISF control shifts the response of the 3-control tone stack between a US-type response at one end, and at the other a UK-type response. The Blackstar amplifier has an infinite number of alternative tone choices in between the 2 extremes that would be otherwise unavailable.

The Blackstar HT Soloist 60 tube amp also features a completely natural sounding digital reverb, which is outstandingly musical on both clean and crunch tones and raises the benchmark for guitar amplifier specific reverb design. A Dark/Bright switch allows the overall reverb characteristics to be modified to suit different tastes and playing styles.

  • The UK's greatest little secret

As reviewed by Russell on 1/12/2011

I have been in the market for a nice tube amp under$1,000 for the past two years now and I think I?ve found my amp. I did the digital modeling thing and got sick of that quite quickly. I soon found out about the UK?s greatest secret Blackstar. The sound of this amp is massive and sweet at the same time. Some of the controls (mainly the ISF switch) are things I ve never seen on an amp ever and this was an area of concern. But after tweaking this baby I was able to pull of the sound of a Mesa boogie (US side) all the way to a Marshall( Brit side). The overdrive can do anything from a nice AC/DC crunch to a searing Megadeth or Tallica distortion. it?s a natural distortion not like to fuzz you get on other amps. The clean side is great compared to other similar amps like the Peavey 6505(where the clean channel is a no show). The clean section on this amp is the closest that I have heard to a Fender?really. My only concern is the reverb is a little lacking for my taste ,but I have a pedal anyway for that. I hear that Blackstar is great with customer service, but I have not bought this amp yet so I don?t know. After trying this baby out in store I can?t wait to order one and bring it home. You should too.

  • Amazing sound for an amazing price!!!

As reviewed by Eric Drenckpohl on 2/19/2011

This is sounds better than anything that I have ever played. (Mind you I have played the Triple Rectifier and all sorts of high end Marshalls.) This is the best sounding amp I have ever owned or played on. Many amps sound good in the store but die out when surrounded by PAs and the bass and drums but this sounds perfect still. You most likely will not need pedals for this amp either. I have a few Boss Pedals and a Digitech RP-90 but i don't use any of them now. The gain and the clean channels both are absolutely perfect. The reverb is also superb and you can choose between dark sound and more of a light reverb with a lift on the tail end. There is no need for a reverb pedal at all. Also the clean channel has no feedback now matter what guitar I use, which is a common problem with lower level guitars and amps. There is a very wide range of gain, all the way from classic american rock like The Guess Who to metal like Metallica and Avenged Sevenfold. Marshall, as many have noticed, are riding their name now. The have ceased to put out the amazing amps that we used to get and now they put out crappy cheap stuff with their name on it. The only way to get this sound from Marshall is to spend more than 1500 dollars on the head alone and then get the 1960s cabs. The MG series is total garbage and the MA series is only slightly better, but is not even good for solid state amps, let alone tube amps. This amp is absolutely the best deal you can possibly get. It is louder than my 100 watt solid state B-52 full stack and I have never had to put the volume up past half on the channel and half on the master. Volume will not be a problem. At the same price as a decent solid state stack you cannot go wrong.

  • Simply Amazing

As reviewed by Mike Harris on 8/18/2011

I'd been eyeing these amps for a while now and finally broke down and bout one. I had read a lot of great things and seen a lot of good demos and they were all 100% dead on. This amp is simply amazing. It's easily the best amp I've owned and one of the best I've ever played on. I've had lots of amps over the years, always buying or trading, trying to find "the one". I found it with the HT-60S. It's like a swiss army knife with how versatile it is. I love the emulated outs for quick recording or rehearsal through headphones (keeps the neighbors happy too). One thing that amazed me was how quiet this amp is. I'm not sure what magic is inside this thing but it should buzz like crazy for all the gain it has but it doesn't. Love it. Trust me..you need this amp. If you've been hemming and hawing about buying one, pull the trigger. You won't be sorry.
