Product Information

The versatile tone of HT tube pedals in a great 1x10 combo amp.

The Blackstar HT-5C is a 1x10" combo amp ideal for studio work or practice, packing all the great tone and innovative features of the award-winning HT tube pedals into a 2-channel, footswitchable tube amp format. The patent-applied-for ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit gives you infinite adjustment over the characteristics of the tone control network and takes your tone from the USA to the UK and any where in between. So now you can effectively design your own tone and finally find "that sound in your head."

In making the Blackstar HT-5C amplifier ideally suited to home and studio use, the aim was to develop a tube amp that sounded full and toneful even at the lowest volume level. With this in mind Blackstar designed a brand-new tube power amplifier topology. The HT-5C power amplifier is a low-powered, push-pull design which producing the crunch and breakup characteristics of a traditional 100W output stage but at a much lower volume via its 12BH7 dual-triode in push-pull configuration producing 5 watts output, which is rich invalve harmonics and compression.

The HT-5C guitar combo amp also has a fully specified speaker-emulated output, further enhancing its studio credentials and allowing any guitarist to get amazing tube tone straight to tape or disk, or through headphones. It also features the unique 4x12/1x12 voicing switch, allowing you to change the tonal characteristics of the emulated signal between 2 emulated cabinet types.

Add to this an effects loop with switchable level, along with 16-ohm and 8-ohm speaker outputs allowing you to run the guitar amp into an external speaker cabinet of your choice, and you have everything you need for recording or practicing.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

I found my Holy Grail of Tone

This amp just KILLS all of my previous amps. Been playing guitar for 25 years. There are too many great things to say about this amp...it would take forever. Bottom line is this amp delivers on tone and build quality. You can tell when taking it out of the box how much attention to detail BlackStar has put into this before even plugging it up. Just shines on both distortion and cleans. No reverb, but has a footswitch which usually never comes supplied with an amp these days.Nice! The search for MY amp is complete now. Sorry GC, no more amp purchases for me...this BlackStar is staying with me.

Great Amp at A Great Price

I bought this amp as a start to getting away from digital processing and get a more natural-sounding and natural-feeling rig for playing churches, etc. where a 50-100W combo or half stack just isn't practical. This amp is amazingly versatile. It will put out a very creamy, rich clean tone, as well as give you a smooth, rich, harmonic overdrive, all the way up into a searing hot distortion. The fact that it's two-channel with included footswitch makes it very easy to go between different styles, tones, etc. It's very responsive to pick attack and guitar volume. It's a 5W amp, which makes it WONDERFUL for smaller venues, or for churches. You get a big amp sound without the hearing damage. Just like any tube amp, though, it gets lifeless if you don't turn it up all the way. It's just that "all the way" for this amp isn't anywhere near as loud as a Blues Jr. or an AC30. I must say that my favorite part of this amp is that the distortion isn't "messy". Some amps' dirty sound is just plain hard to control, it has very little clarity. This amp's distortion is smooth and clear, but still sounds very natural. I would have preferred to have separate EQ for the clean & dirty channel, hence the 4 of 5 stars. Still, though, great amp. You can't come close to it for anywhere near the same price.

Incredible Sound in a Small Package - Get IT

It took a long time for me to find a tube amplifier with the featurs I wanted at a price I could afford. What a bonus that it also sounds great. The clean channel shines. With pickup volume maxed, it sparkles with just a hint of edge. Moderating pickup volume removes the edge and produces crystal clear sound. This little box really shines in the overdrive channel. With adjustments to the gain control, I can get sounds from a bluesy slight breakup to full blown crunch, unaffected by the amp's volume setting. With the infinite shape feature to modify the interaction of the tone controls, the voicing can range from traditional American amp sounds to raging Hendirx-like distortion. I needed an amp with headphone output because most of my practice time is after the rest of the house is in bed. With the voicing options for the headphone output, the sound in my headphones matches what I hear through the speaker. An added bonus is that the channel footswitch is INCLUDED. WOW!

Blackstar ht-5c

Just blew me away. Made well. Sounds like no other in it's size and class. Gain channel is very load for 5 watts. The clean channel sounds great but it's not as load. Add a Voodoo Sparkle Overdive to it, crank up the clean knob and bam.... it's load. Worth the money and then some.

High-Gain Tune Tone at Bedroom Volume!

This amp finally delivers on the promises of tube tone at extremely low volumes. Forget attenuators and power brakes, This is what you are looking for! It has an FX loop that, an output for speaker emulation, and it has a footswitchable 2 channels. For the price you can't beat this amp!
