Powerful tube tone that's perfect for the studio or practice!

Part of Blackstar's HT-1 Series, the innovative HT-1 guitar combo amp offers unbelievable tube sound in a compact format. Using the dual-triode ECC82 wired in a push-pull circuit, it produces the crunch and break-up characteristics of a traditional 100-watt amp at a much lower volume. Switch from normal to overdrive at the touch of a button. The patent-applied-for ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit gives you infinite variation, taking you from USA to UK tone, and anywhere in between. Add in the 8" speaker, emulated speaker/headphone output, MP3/line Input, plus an 8-ohm speaker output and you have everything you need for recording or practicing.

I use Behringer Vampire as primary amp with AC monitor as the right side of stereo out. Real perfection. I wanted to add a real tube sound to this mix and HT-1 is just the perfect fit. Clean and distortions are fantastic. I can feel the 5 ms delay the digital amps tag onto the sound. Gone when using tube. By itself,Mic's or via headphones this is great. I had 1968 Fender deluxe reverb and like this better. Not as loud but it is to me better when driving the AC monitor. 30 days trails at Guitar Center and San Mateo has great staff that did not trip on all my return since I was trying out another. Fender I mustang v2, peavey ,orange, fender super champx2 (almost kept this one),Vox vt80 (would have kept but it overheated and would shut down, I am that good I guess :). This Blackstar is a keeper...I almost kept the Blackstar Id core 40 but no USB output volume control damaged my ears more than once so I could not keep it. Trying an amp at home was the key to my satisfaction and Guitar Center has great policies in that regard.

  • Best amp I've owned

As reviewed by Jason Lieble on 12/12/2012

I recently looked at my old solid-state Marshall half-stack and thought "Well, this is overkill." All i really wanted was that classic tube distortion sound and it didn't need to be in a 4/10" speaker package... This amp sounds incredible. Absolutely perfect for my needs which are practicing at home, in the studio, and direct line-in recording. It does all of this in spades. Before this amp, I had tried the Marshall Class 5 combo amp, but was wayyy to loud for what I needed. This little amp is absolutely the bees knees. Severely versatile and the sound is second to none. Do yourself a favor and buy this amp!
