Blackheart BH15H Handsome Devil Series 15W Tube Amp Head (483096)
Availability:

Surprisingly compact, astoundingly powerful and responsive.

The 15W Blackheart Handsome Devil Tube Amp Head was designed and prototyped in a one-car garage in Austin, Texas by none other than amp savant, Pyotr Belov. The BH15H Handsome Devil amp evokes classic tube tones more than reminiscent of the great American and British amplifiers - the plug and play workhorses that laid the foundation for rock 'n' roll guitar tone starting in the '60s. Just like its predecessor and little brother, the Little Giant 5, the BHE Handsome Devil is overbuilt to last with features and components you'd expect on a hand-built, much more expensive amplifier.

Features dual power modes allowing the gods of rock to dial in responsiveness and headroom in either 15W or 7W output. Separate Master and Level controls put both awesome power and responsibility in the unwashed hands of mankind. 3 Bands of well-tuned EQ make for nearly infinite voicing. From big fat overdrive to plucky, just-about-to-squeal if you hit me a little harder grease, the Handsome Devil covers classic tube tone with as few knob turns as possible through a well thought out set of features in a tank-tough package.

As expected, you get the simple elegance and robust component specs that mark BHE's designs. From 1W, carbon-film resistors in the signal path to beefy, double sided pcb with 2 oz. traces, 16 gauge, precision folded and welded chassis and mutli-ply, classically joined cabinetry, Blackheart is as serious about quality as they are about tone.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

I was looking for a smaller head to mount on top of 2 older Marshall 12" cabs I've had and found this little dude.I had never seen one in a store so it was U-Tube for the demo for what that's worth. As bad as most of the demos were I ordered one and This Little Amp SCREAMS!!!I have a variety of guitars incl a Les Paul w/P90's,Epi Dot 335,custom hollow Tele w/3 lipstick tubes, ect and each one just sounds better than the next through this amp.I suppose you could put a pedal in front and even make it a metal amp...it just has a range of tones and controls that are outstanding at any volume, it's hard to believe its only 15 watts. Dial in the level, tweak the gain and clean up your grit with the guitar volume. The 7 watt feature is a terriffic feature for the livingroom as I've played at 3a.m. with great tone and happy (read couldn't hear me) neighbors. This amp is super well made, looks classic and doesn't sound like any other amp, it is really pleasing musically to the ear.Heck even my sister says I haven't sounded this good in years.Definately buy one you won't be disappointed...the new Boss Fender FRV-1 goes excellent with it too

  • Small wattage with large headroom

As reviewed by T. Shaw on 12/3/2008

I picked up my BH15H for work at home and small rooms. What I found is that this head works great in most clubs of medium size. The tone is great for electric blues and rock. Depending on the size of the room I have used a 1x12 cabnet or a 4x12 cabnet and it has not let me down. I have not found any negitive points with this head as we usually play 3 1 hour sets and the amp has not let me down.

Perfect for What I needed, I wanted an old school sound cranked with just a touch grit, nice warm compressed rockabilly sound, if you want a great classic rock or blues sound it will do that too!
