The first time I tried these strings on, these babies sounded amazing. I have a Behringer MetAlien (not the best guitar), and these strings, compared to other strings, it stays in dropped tuning for a long time. I've had these bad boys on Drop-B for a long time, still sound great on Drop-G, yes! Drop-G!!! I would recommend these string mainly for people who like to have their guitars drop tuned to 1 step down or lower. Trust me, they have great tone and great sustain. Although the G, B, and High E strings get rusty a little fast, they still sound great. Just wipe them down after use and they'll stay in perfect shape!
These DRs are my new choice of strings. I play detuned a full step and this gauge is perfect. Great tone and no finger squeek even on my acoustic and easier on the frets. I dig them. I have bought 6 this last month and some for my acoustic. Oh yeah did I mention they look cool as well? I do not have the coating wear issues some have said. I have played my ebony neck strat perhaps 8 times w these on and only see two small spots on the G from picking that have started to wear a little, nothing on the frets, rather amazing. DR is hand made quality. I could not be more pleased, I have all Spertzel locking tuners on my two strats and one LP type guitar (all Carvin Customs). I just dig these strings and they look wicked on my maple and ebony fingerboards!
