Overview

The Beyerdynamic Opus 88 condenser microphone is a perfect choice for close miking toms and snare drums, and is designed to excel at professional sound reinforcement or recording. The snare drum is hit most often, the hardest, and produces a very complex sound pattern. The Opus 88 mic has been optimized for the snare, both electrically and physically, to capture a precise sound. With its patented microphone clamp with integrated preamplifier and 3-pin XLR plug the Opus 88 can easily and quickly be mounted to the rim. The short flexible gooseneck and the horizontal swivel joint ensures optimal positioning.
Requires phantom power.

Love this thing!

By Mike Klowas

from san diego, CA

I use these mics in the live atmosphere. I use them on toms and they sound great! The clips are awesome, quick and strong! The only issue that I have had is the XLR will fall out on occasion. These mics are always on my input list and mine travel with me to every gig.

best snare mic

By Kyle

from Walnut Creek, CA

This snare mic was really my preference on my band's latest EP. I find the sharpness of the microphone to create a much more desirable sound than an SM57. The microphone is easy to attach and it does not clip even with heavy rim shots.
