The Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro is the most comfortable and accurate headphones in their pricerange, or even a little above. These headphones will not kill your head during tracking or extended listening sessions. They are extremelely accurate, making them great for listening to your favorite music, and getting the best mixes from your recordings. If you are passionate about music, then use headphones that are just as wonderful as the music coming through them.

I admit that these headphones produce a solid sound - BUT watch out! Mine worked very well - UNTIL one day when any low frequency sound began to produce a troublesome rattling - rendering them essentially useless. This wasn't just exceptionally low or high amplitude sounds - even the cello on a string quartet recording would cause prominent buzzing. Since I was still under warranty, I attempted to contact customer service - no less than TEN times - via both e-mail and telephone - to no avail. Not even a single return message. So $200+ wasted. My experience may not be typical, but be forewarned.

Best Headphones EVER!!!

By Ryan

from Sacramento, CA

I bought these headphones in 2008 from Guitar Center and they still work marvelously. 2008 people. Minus normal wear and tear these headphones still look brand spanking new. Best investment you can make in headphones. 2008 people. That's 6 years of having the same headphone (about to be 7). Considering buying Beats by Dre? No thank you. DT 770 Pro are the best headphones ever hands-down. They give you a real clean sound where you can identify each individual instrument and vocal. Really good to use for studio heads who want to mix their vocals to just the right level without being bounced out by overpowering bass. Make no mistake about it these headphones have an excellent kick/thump to them but it won't drown you out of the overall musical experience. The cushioning feels great around the ears and is wearable for hours at a time (easily a full day). They grip your head perfectly without being overpowering and are made out of great material. My headphones from 2008 have not changed much from the 2014 sold design. I have tried on the new version and alternated and they remain with the companies signature clean sound. You can experience a great time with these. The cord is long enough so you can stand up and do vocals with the headphones plugged in. These are not gym headphones. Take good care of them - not that they are delicate - they are actually quite sturdy and reliable but I would never disrespect these headphones by filling them up with sweat. Alright that is my review - hope it helped.

Awesome

By Mike

from Providence,RI

Great headphones! Complete clarity from the sub frequencies to the highs. Great for monitoring mixes if you are an audio engineer or just a music enthusiast. These things just sound really good. I bought 1 for my studio and 1 for my home set up. Best headphones I've used thus far

Left earphone died in less than a year

By Trevor Richardson

from Tallahassee, FL

They were great while they lasted, but the left earphone suddenly stopped working in the middle of a movie I was watching. I tried wiggling the wire to see if that would work but no luck.

Epic - just Epic

By Sam Tittes

from Denver, CO

I have a lossless recording of Greensleeves I originally played on a Boesendorfer 290. Translation - I was there for the recording and sitting the hot seat. I can tell you that these cans with no EQ'ing sound EXACTLY like you are sitting and actually playing the piano. It is quite difficult to tell the difference. Only minus is it is a little difficult to drive these cans with a phone (80ohm model) Ipad drives them better, computer even better than that, and of course my Edirol rig drives them the best. However, at max volume on the android phone (Galaxy Note) it is probably the loudest you would want to be able to run anyway. I just like having the extra room for soft pieces.

They are great!!!

By Nicholas Zohovetz

from Las Vegas

The 770's are the ones! They have great bass response, sharp highs with little or no coloring. I sweat a tiny bit after wearing them for a little bit, but they are very comfortable. I can wear them for hours without hurting my head or ears. Get em!!!

These headphones are way siick!!

By DOUGLAS DECKER

from Omaha, NE.

I have had some entry level headphones in the past and before I got these I was at GC A/B'ing a few different models. The Sony HD7906 were too bass and sparkly high heavy, as well as the AKG 240s, the Beyerdynamics were the flattest headphones out there in their price point. The Sennheiser HD280s didn't have enough low end and lacked a little detail. These phones are the next stepping point before I go all out on some Ultrasones or Quincy Jones Signatures.

DT770 Pro phones -durable and great sound

By Stephan Cullerton

from Crystal River, Fl

I have owned these FOREVER (late 1980's), they are the most durable and greatest sounding phones I have ever had. I use them daily on the laptop, MP3, and regular music and TV listening. Never go anywhere without them. You will easily get 20 years and more out of these, and, with earpad replacement, many more years after that. Great product and value. Comfortable and solid.

Great sound + Comfortable = Awesome

By Geoffrey Robles

from Ventura, CA

These sound great with great highs and lows. If you pair this with a good quality amp it makes a huge difference. You can use it with an iPod but to reach their full potential you need an amp. The ear cups are also really comfortable. It's like having 2 soft pillows wrapped around your head. They keep out a lot of ambient noise which is great for commuting, flying, or loud office coworkers.

Amazing

By Ozzi

from Normal, IL

I love these so much. I've been looking for headphones that can give me the bass I want from dubstep music without killing my ears and these are perfect for what I was looking for. They give a lot of bass without sounding distorted. They are very comfortable and keep my ears warm in the winter when I'm walking around campus. They block out a lot of noise but not to the point that you won't hear anything, which I love.

Get the Warranty

By Tex

from Hockley, TX

I've had these headphones for just a little over a year now and the small jack has started to short out. I've taken great care not to crimp the end. I was not impressed with this aspect of these headphones to begin with. I am very surprised that a company that makes higher end products such as these, doesn't make them a bit more rugged. I did get the 2-year warranty with these and would recommend it to anyone considering these headphones. You can't go to a Guitar Center store and trade them out. You ship them off and they send you a gift card for price+tax. Then you get to go back to the store and purchase them all over again. Seems like you should be able to just take them to the store and swap them out and let Guitar Center take care of the rest. Oh well, at least I'll be able to replace them. As far as the sound quality of these headphones, I am more than pleased. These are the best set of studio headphones I've owned and I am going to replace them. They're very comfortable to wear for extended periods. They really isolate the sound very well. Great for drummers. I have no doubt as to what my recordings will sound like with these headphones. What you sound like is what you'll hear on the playback. I would recommend these with the warranty. Cause ya nevah know!!!!!
