Excellent Method for Guitar Instruction

By Luis Cruz

from Winter Park, FL

Comments about Berklee Press A Modern Method for Guitar - Volume 1 (Book/DVD-Rom):

I ordered this book with the DVD. I recommend the DVD, because the Instructor, Larry Baione does an outstanding job explaining the material. The book gets you right into playing the guitar with lessons from original material written by the author, William Leavitt. The lessons are tedious, but for the serious beginning guitar player, this will not disappoint you. The lessons build your hand dexterity and teaches you to read music. I have never been inspired by a real instructor like I have by Mr. Baione's instruction on the DVD. He is interpreting Mr. Leavitt's book and breaking it down for you. He is covering all the essential parts of Mr. Leavitt's original material. An outstanding job. I am playing guitar like I never could before. One item, you will have to practice and put your time into the lessons. It will take you a year or more to finish the lessons in a methodical and structured way. I understand and see how each lesson builds you up into the next. If you are patient and want to seriously learn to play the guitar and read music, your time into this book will get you there. Check out all the people world wide on You Tube using this method. Highly recommend it.
