Sonically Superior Mic Preamps
All Behringer XENYX mixing consoles have one thing in common-great-sounding, high headroom XENYX mic preamps. These state-of-the-art mic pres represent a major step in the evolution of audio technology-and they can easily hold their own, even when compared to the most expensive stand-alone mic preamps. Behringer XENYX preamps offer a staggering 130 dB of dynamic range, with a bandwidth that extends from below 10 Hz to well above 200 kHz. Armed with these outstanding mic preamps, Behringer XENYX USB mixers provide such transparent, crystal-clear performance you just might think someone upgraded your mics while you weren't looking.
Sublimely Musical British EQ
The British mixing consoles of the 1960s and '70s changed the sound of rock and roll-without them the British Invasion might not have happened. Those legendary mixing desks soon became the envy of engineers and producers all over the world. The channel EQ on the Behringer XENYX mixer is based on that very same circuitry, allowing you to imbue signals with incredible warmth and detailed musical character. Even when applied generously, these equalizers exhibit sweet forgiveness and superb audio quality.
Ask professional sound engineers what their favorite piece of external processing gear is and the majority response will be virtually unanimous-dynamic compression. What is compression? Compression essentially limits the dynamic range of a signal, lowering the level of loud sounds and turning up softer sounds, to achieve sonic balance. But applying compression is a delicate art that many novice, and even intermediate, sound techs have great difficulty mastering. Behringer's "one-knob" compression is available on all mono channels and is easy to operate, even for entry-level users. With this one knob, you can easily dial in the perfect amount of compression for instruments and vocals, creating powerful mixes with punch and clarity. This is indeed a rare feature for affordable USB mixers in this class-but standard on all Behringer XENYX USB mixers.
The Behringer X1622USB USB mixers features 24-bit dual engine FX processor, with 16 editable, studio-grade presets including reverb, chorus, flanger, delay, pitch shifter and multi-effects. Complete with a highly accurate input meter, these effects can be altered to your personal taste via the Parameter control. Time-based functions can be entered manually by pressing the Tap button in tempo with the music.
There was a time when the recording process called for lots and lots of expensive gear, which meant the average musician had to buy time at a recording studio-and that time was pricey indeed. But modern technology has put personal recording well within the reach of virtually anyone with access to a computer. How do you get all that music flying around your brain into your computer? That's where the Behringer XENYX USB mixer comes in. Thanks to the mixer's built-in, bi-directional stereo USB audio interface, you can connect any of these mixers directly to your PC or Mac computer via a single USB cable. Now any signal source you connect to the mixing console can be recorded directly to your hard drive. Which brings us to music software…

We use this mixer for web-casting, and it's a champ! The USB in/out is definitely a winner, as are the aux outs and Sub channel pair they packed into this little guy. On a feature:price ratio, it's the best mixer I've bought to date!
I purchased two of these mixers for my DJ gig boxes. My partner and I use them a few times a week each. The mixer does a nice job mixing karaoke music with the voice. The effects work well too. The only reason that I haven't given it five stars is that one channel is not working properly after about a year. There are plenty of work arounds on the board, so it's not been a huge problem, but that's about it.
I purchased this nifty little mixer about 6 months ago and couldn't be happier. Sound clarity is awesome. Ease of use is a big plus, although the "effects" settings are a bit confusing from time to time, but if you take the time to RTFM... Well, you get the point. One happy coincidence came when I showed up for a gig I was playing as a guest artist, I didn't have my mixer, but the club had the same model! Worked just as good as the one I had at home and this one was USED hard by the daily influx of artists playing that venue. I highly recommend this mixer!
I purchased the XENYX 1622FX mixer a little over a year ago to be able to record while I traveled for work. After a few sessions I realized that this was the worst buy I have every made. I get a minimum of -35db of audible noise in the mixer when recording my external instruments. Iۡve tried everything form downloading the drivers from Behringerۡs website to using ASIO4ALL with no luck. One bright spot is the audio interface that came with the mixer. It is a great little starter interface and has very low latency but I could have purchased it for $40 and not gotten the 1622FX mixer and purchased another mixer with better sound quality. I wouldnۡt recommend the mixer to anyone unless you like the humming sound of electronics in your music. I wish I had 2 more hands, so I could give the mixer four thumbs down!
exactly the feature set i was thinking of when i went looking for a mixer. the sound quallity is excellent, pure and uncolored. the pre amps are exceptionaly unique maybe better than some higher end equpment. the compression works good enough for vocals and the fx sound realistic, maybe too good. with the inserts subgroups and the aux sends i can route external devices nearly any way imaginable. all the switch buttons are great too makes it versatile. as for durability only time will tell. care for your tools and they should last. most things behringer makes are engineered quite well even covering things you didnt expect to need. although the designs are great its all manufactured in china to be cost effective but at these prices what you get is an incredible deal there are a few negatives on the usb feature but they can be worked around i use audacity for jam recordings and working out song ideas. the usb output volume is a little weak with the masters set to unity (0), but that can be boosted either the mixer or the program. and also the usb input makes a soft power on pop just before any sound is played out of silence and then after the sound finishes including mouse clicks it can get a little annoying so i use the out from the computer to the rca inputs instead. other than that i couldnt be happier with my purchase, as i look around the room it seems ive got a studio full of behringers that i couldnt be happier with
