The XENYX 302USB is ideally suited for a small home studio or the on-the-go recording enthusiast. At approximately 4" long and 5" wide (117 x 135 mm), the XENYX 302USB respects your desk space, while providing an XLR & 1/4" combination socket, stereo USB/Line channel plus a dedicated 2-Track input.
Small, but mighty!
Don’t let the XENYX 302USB’s diminutive size fool you—this little gem is loaded with features typically reserved for larger, more expensive mixers. For instance, we equipped the Mic input with our XENYX mic preamp, which is legendary for its sonic clarity and high-headroom performance. Behringer also gave the Mic and Line/USB channels our 2-band British-style EQs (Low and High), and provide a 2-Track input that can be assigned to either the Main Mix or Phones.
You can even power the XENYX 302USB from your computer’s USB port, which is great for capturing the sounds of migratory birds in flight, or for posting your podcast straight to the Web. Sports announcers, radio and TV reporters will definitely want one of these in their field bag. Incredible sonic performance, versatility and extreme value in a small package—that’s the XENYX 302USB!

I replaced my Alesis MultiMix 4 with this powerful little mixer for podcast recording. It's amazingly quiet, and allows me to split channel record between the mic and a stereo mix. That's a lot of versatility in such a tiny package. And did I mention it's quiet? The Alesis was horribly hissy . . . everything I recorded had to be post processed to get rid of the noise provided compliments of the mixer. The Behringer is SO quiet that I haven't had to do any noise reduction at all in the post production, and my recording levels are terrific. Don't waste your time with Alesis, buy Behringer. Even their cheapest product is leaps and bounds better.
I have had this product for less than three weeks and it has already worn out. It crackles every time I use it. I thought it was my headphones, but then I tried another pair, then hooked it up to speakers. The crackles were still evident. Before this interface blew out, I was having issues with recording guitar. The interface links its own output with the output from the computer, so when I was recording guitar with effects, I couldn't get rid of the clean, untouched sound that came along with my processed sounds. My advice: don't go with any version of the behringer xenyx.
I've heard a lot of gear snobs say that Behringer stuff is cheap, and it is , but only in price! Everything I've ever purchased from Behringer is still up and running, and in my opinion sounds great. I've been a full time musician for over 30 years, and the only thing I've seen go wrong with their stuff is their powered speakers. I guess they use some weird ohm setup, which means you have to wait awhile to get them replaced.Other than that, thumbs up. Unlike some of the other major companies out there, their products are not built like Mac trucks,so treat them more like sports cars and they will last as long as any other product out there. The XENYX 302USB, in my opinion rocks. It only has a footprint of 4"X 6",which means it will fit just about anywhere. It works great as a stand alone mixer, using the power supply it comes with, and when you plug it in to your computer, via USB,it transforms into a smooth little audio interface. I use Sonar for recording and the two products work great together. The XENYX 302USB also comes with a web address for a lot of free software, plugins, and sounds.Although I wasn't impressed with some of it, its' still worth downloading all of it and then just dumping the stuff you don't like. There is one particular program that features a singing monk,(with graphics) that will make you laugh your butt off. All in all, this product is worth every penny your paying. So get one and make some music!
