This is a great little mixer. I use it to mix my band practice and run everyone through it into a headphone amp (using a v-drum set, Line 6 Flextone II, and bass direct into the board). Very user friendly and convenient with the onboard effects built in. The only minor thing missing is an on/off switch so you have to unplug to turn it off. Overall great value. It does exactly what I bought it for, and for $109 how can you go wrong.

Was looking forward to adding this to my recording gear. took it out of the box and was surprised how light it was. Should have known better. My four channel Mackie is half the twice and probably weighs more. Can't be sure but this probably explains why the board sounds thin. Usually i'm impressed with most of the behringer stuff. But not this. I am definitely returning it.

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

This little compact mixer is so cool! It has 12 channels and it accommodates our needs just right. Sometimes, I do one-man shows, or myself and my keyboardist. Either way, this mixer does the job and does it very good. I get lots of raves about the effects this little mixer has to offer my audiances. Good going guys you did good man!

Great Little Mixer

By Paddyo

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

We lovingly refer to this mixer as, "The Ghetto Board." It has faithfully served my active working 5-piece band for about four years. The 3-band EQ is fine. Mic pre-amps are as advertised - very quiet and clean. The CD inputs require your mp3 play/IPod/etc. to provide a lot of gain, so beware of that fact. We drive two Behringer powered speakers with this little rig, and plug in the Behringer "Shure SM58 clone," mics. We've played to audiences of close to 500 with this little baby. You can't beat the price/performance/size of this mixer. We now use it primarily as a drum sub-mixer, or when feeling really creative, route the horn section through it and then play with the FX. I have had other bigger, pricier boards die on me and this one keeps going strong. Buy it.

Get one...

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

I needed a smaller mixer for my Jazz Group. I have 3 mixers total at this point. Depends on the gig I do. I own a XENYX 2222 FX and recently purchased a XENYX 1202 FX. The 1202 FX doe's most of what my larger board can do. I really dig the FX channels and especially FX # 52. If you adjust this FX properly it is killer for vocals. Since I am the only vocalist I needed a small board. I use 2 JBL EON 15's and with this XENYX 1202 it creates that punch and presence I want. I would like to have a toogle to turn the mixer on and off instead of unplugging the unit in and out for power. I am going to add a power slider switch to the power cord soon. Also if only it had XLR's for the Speaker Main Out instead of the 1/4" access. None the less, everyone always checks out my gear to see what I have thats new. I love this little board. The XENYX 2222 FX I own is awesome for my bigger gigs and I also use a Yamaha 1000 Watt Mixer with passive speakers for other venues. So I ordered my mixer from G/C on a Monday and it was in my hands by that same week Friday morning with "FREE" shipping! This is a great opportunity to get the gear you want and also get free shipping. What a deal!!! As a Solo Vocalist, I mounted a small music stand made by Stagg that has a mount screw to attach to the Mic Stand. The Music Holder is about 10" wide X 12" Length. It's adjustable to any angle. After a few pieces of Velcro to the mixer and music holder I have this mixer at my finger tips while I am singing since it is clamped on to my stand. That way I can change FX and FX Channels while singing live. Thanks G/C and thanks Behringer! I look forward to always singing and performing live!

This Thing Helped Me Get Signed

By Tim

from Cincinnati, Oh

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

When me and my group were all unsigned, we decided to get even more serious about our music and decided to do our first unsigned tour around the state. Well, we did 12 shows and 7 of the 12 shows we had to use our own equipment. This mixer was our choice and this little thing is powerful. We did our first show by accident w/o a power amp and between the mixer and the PA system, the sound was bouncing off the buildings on fountain square. After that once we got our power amp this thing was perfect. Only downside is there is no on/off sqitch so if u wanna turn it off ya gotta unplug it but otherwise i really dont think you need anything bigger unless you have a lot of stuff to run sound through. Definately reccomend

This little thing is amazing!

By Joe Turner Music

from Naples, FL

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

I've been trying to condense my set up and was looking for a small mixer. Since my former mixer was a Behringer, I figured I'd give this a shot. WOW, this is a killer! Upside is all about performance as it was exactly what I was looking for. Few downsides including the size of the pots (they're small if you have big fingers), and the 1/4-inch outs instead of XLR outs, but that's all I can find. It gives a very warm sound and for the price, why wouldn't you give this a shot?

In July, 2009 I bought this mixer. Since then I have not boughten anything else. It is amazing. The Preamps are very good, and the sound quality is "A++" sound. My band and I used this mixer when we recorded, as well as at live performances. It is amazing!! Must Buy!!!!!!

Way cool!

By KBadd

from Miami, FL

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

I got this mainly because I have a 7 channel PA system and I need to mic my drums. This allows me to put 4 drum mics in and only use 1 channel on the PA. It is awesome!! After the purchase I realized how MUCH MORE I can do with my keyboard, bass and guitar as well! ery worht the price.....I woulda spent twice on it!!

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

My main thing i like about it was that it has 100 effects that are fun to mess around with. the thing i didn't like about it was that it cant plug directly to a moniter because it is unpowered. But that doesn't matter because i have a amp to power it.

Powerful and handy mixer at a great price!

By DENNIS PALITANG

from Oakdale, CA

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

C'mon now, many of us who bought this mixer did so because we wanted to save a few bucks. I know I would have preferred a Mackie or a Yamaha, but this was in the budget. Wow, was I surprised! I bought this little unit because I was getting ready to do an outdoor wedding, since my other mixer didn't have any onboard effects. I ran this unit into a 1000w amp, running to 2 outdoor JBL speakers. I ran two mics, one condenser and one dynamic, along with a midi keyboard. I was able to mix in some really sweet reverb. There are quite a few effects, that quite frankly I'll never use. Plenty of phantom power and gain, too. Outdoor events are not as critical as in-studio recording, so this fit the bill just right. There really is no reason to take this into the studio anyway, since I rely on my DAW's plug-in effects. Good job, Behringer!

Nice Mixer at an Affordable Price

By Jason Hooper

from Port Angeles, Washington

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

Don't let the elitist Behringer-bashers trick you, I have several peices of behringer gear and it has all held up, this mixer is no exception. This mixer is perfect for the singer/songwriter or small ensemble-which is what I use it for. It handles the vocals for my 3 piece rock band perfectly. I also use it to mix music from my iPod/Computer with my electronic drums for practice. Lots of headroom and no discernable noise. It feels sturdy and well-built, but, if you gig a lot, I'd invest in a case to protect it because the pots and fader does protrude and could potentially be damaged. That's really just common sense anyway! I can't speak to the effects, as I haven't found a use for them yet, but it's nice to know they're there! If you're looking for a starter mixer to get you're PA up and going or are looking for more signal routing possiblities, get this, or any other XENYX series mixer.

This Thing Is Awesome!!

By Tim

from Batavia, OH

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

I have a rap and r&b group that is about to go on tour locally. We use this mixer for our venues and this thing is insane!! I am running a b52 sound system into it and being that we dont make our beats yet the audio input and outputs make things way easier too, so all were doing is using an mp3 player with a cable that hooks into the headphone jack of the mp3, to the audio input jacks on this mixer. Now we have beats and our vocals coming through the speakers which is awesome too. Very lightweight and powerful for the price. The fx on this is awesome too and when ya need a lil echo or other effects when ya heatin up the crouds this thing is awesome. Would definately recommend this to other musicians.

Great Flexability & features

By Mike J

from Sellersville Pa

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

I ordered this because my Kustom Profile 1 went belly up on me. I have a stereo power amp so I use this with that, this mixer gives you a lot of features of more expensive units at a very reasonable price. It has eq for low mid & treble instaed of just tone, it also has built in effects (100 presets)

Excellent product excellent value!

By A.J. Blues

from Staten Island, NY

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

This is the perfect mixer for almost any situation! 4 dedicated MIC channels and 4 instrument channels is more than enough for my band! It's fairly quiet, it's got excellent EQ options. The reverbs and other effects are adequate at best, but get the job done. My one complaint is that it does not have an ON/OFF switch. For the money, you can't beat this puppy!

Great for Karaoke Set Ups

By O.Rosales

from Hidalgo,TX

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

I'm no Pro, I just enjoy Karaoke with friends. I had a previous model (Xenyx 802) and it work fine with my desktop (whch happens to have a sound card and FX Software)so I was confined to my living room, the Xenyx 1202FX allowed me to use my laptop (no extra Software nor external Reverb (FX) Box) and enjoy Karaoke at the patio with out the hazel of messing with my PC set up. Very handy, controls are nice and smoth; for my none-pro application I got more than expected.

Karaoke Winner

By Captain Kirk "THE Urban Cowboy"

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

I host a Karaoke Show in Vegas on the Strip so my equipment can't fail. Had this mixer for just over a year & the only 2 issues are no on/off switch & the power source. The power source on our first mixer (smaller model) fried and something is going wrong with either the power source or something else on this one... had loud white noise mid show!!! NOT GOOD!!! Solved the problem by unplugging and plugging back in. No on/off switch makes unplugging in a hurry a very loud and bad for speakers event. The FX are a bit hokey, though... 100 presets of mostly worthless FX. Not sure who would ever use about 90 of them. We keep it set on 88 all the time. Great sound: we dump into a $500,000 sound system at Gilley's and all sounds great!!! A little scared of using it for our next gig, but for the price and what you get in that size... best one I've seen. Best buy for: Price, features, size, sound quality.

Great Mixer!

By JON COTTERS

from Hampton Virginia

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

I read the reviews about the Behringer XENYX 1202FX and decided to buy it for home recording. However, my Guiter Center could not find any of the three their inventory showed on-hand. With their recommendation, I bought the ALTO 8 mixer w/FX. Mistake! The Alto looked great, but the operating instructions were short, with tiny print and confusing. The FX effects were very disappointing. I took it back the next business day and ordered the Behringer on-line through the store. It quickly arrived safe-and-sound. What a difference! The instructions are very comprehensive and the unit knobs are labeled better (I hate it when the instructions say to turn knob XYZ and XYZ is labeled ABC on the unit). The FX effects are fantastic!!! Just wish it had an on-off switch. You cannot beat it for the price.

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1202FX Mixer:

Nice little mixer. Ive had it for just over a year and it has worked great from the start. Only downside is that it does not have a power switch, so you have to unplug it every time you are done using it.
