The Behringer V-Tone GMX212 Stereo Combo is an amp for beginning musicians on a very, VERY low budget. I used this amp as a guitar amp in my band for a short time, and it didn't hold up very well. I used the Behringer V-Tone GMX212 Stereo Combo Amp at a show once, and that one time it couldn't put out enough sound to play with. I had to combine it with an amp from another band I didn't know. My suggestions: If you need a cheap, quick fix to a guitar amp problem, go with this, but if you're serious about your playing, save up and get something better.

Effects On A Budget

By Anthony Purcell

from Wayne, NJ

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

I love this amp! With all of it's built in effects, it kinda nulls the need for pedals. It has all type of effects, wah, phaser, delay, ambiance, chorus, fill, heavy distorion, and plently more. You can choose the intensity of the effects also. I was able to create wonderful music with this amp. The sound is crisp and clear. Good prodcut.

Loud with good effects.

By Bibman rocks!

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

I agree that this may not be a pro's show amp, but it is the best amp I've heard for the money. No others come close in this price range. It is plenty loud and it sounds good and the effects do a pretty good job. I think the drive channel is especially good in this amp. I also think the footswitch could use some work, but again, in this price range I don't think that is a make or break item. It just a little nuisance.

Overall A Great Amp!

By DarkOne

from Reading, PA

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

This amp is great value for the amount of effects, volume and connections. The control knobs seem fragile but should hold up. It has an effects loop to connect a preamp modeler (before the amps effects) which may effect tone. The slave input connection is transparent and does not color your tone! However, the internal preamp and amp volume controls are disabled, so your preamp is the only way to adjust the volume. I use this amp with the GNX3000 using the clean channels and "some" of the V-Tone amp effects (chorus, reverb or the pitchshifter for hamonizing) just for that little "extra" and it sounds awesome. The amp is analog, no tubes to replace and gets a decent distortion, but for a "heavy metal" sound buy a pedal. Overall, this amp has a ton of effects that are adjustable. Most are useable (after adjusting the effect level) and you can save your setting over the preset! The channels are identical so you set a different effect to each and switch between them. I really like this amp for everything it includes and keep finding new sounds everytime I play... Keep rockin

Behringer V-Tone GMX212 Stereo Combo

By Stratomaster74

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

Great amp, lots of effects and good analog modeling. If you are a beginner you should definantly get this, it's better than a line 6 spider at the same price range. 120 watts, 2-12" classic jensens.

I love this amp. It sounds great when it's low and it sounds even better when it's cranked. This is the 2nd one I've owned and I have never had any problems with anything. There's so much to do with this amp! This is a great amp.

Ummm...

By Muerte Guitarist 1

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

It's a great value for the price and it packs a punch. The v-tone puts the icing on the cake with tons of effects you will never get bored of messing with. the two channels makes things alot easier especially without a gian gap in between them when switching. This amp is good for clean tone stuff, but the distortion is aweful. I recomend to anyone on a budget who want power and versatility that plays clean stuff only.

Definately a Great Amp.

By CloudedFuture89

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

I went with my uncle today to A guitar shop across town ran by a buddy of my uncle's. Each of the people working there kept reccomending this Amp to me. And my uncle, who does the Amp repiars at that particular shop, has rarely had to work on them, So they are quality amps, And loads of effects. Definately getting your money's worth when buying this. And it is very powerful, I strummed the guitar hooked into this amp. Didn't have the volume up not even halfway yet. It rattled every drum and a couple other things like crazy. So yeah, it's definately a powerhouse, good for performing on stage if you're in a small band.

Great amp with plenty of effects

By Maylene's Music Man

from Maylene, Alabama

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

This amp does everything I want it to do. It is really loud and the effects sound great. My favorite feature is the distortion, there are many different tones you can achieve and they all sound amazing. The clean channel is crisp and sounds good for open chords, slide guitar, and even solos. The best part is that it is easy to use which makes it the perfect amp for beginners. This amp also performs well as an acoustic amp.

Can't go wrong for the money.

By SEE-ARE

from Continental Oh

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

I've owned this amp for a little over 2 years now. Now for $250 you might think this is too good to be true. It's definitley a good amp if you're starting a band and need a decent sized amp. The drawback is of course the noise quality. The sound is kind of muddy and the notes blend together (espeically on the distortion channel). Also, you would think this could a good studio amp with all the outputs on the back, but there is quite an annoying hiss in the distortion channel that you don't find in quality amps. So like I said. Buy it if your just starting a band and you're on a budget. It will be loud enough depending on how the drummer plays. Other than that save your money for a line 6 or a marshall.

Awesome Modelling Amp

By Smitty265

from North Yarmouth, ME

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

I've owned the Behringer V-Tone GMX-212 amp for about three years now. In those three years I have stayed constantly amazed at what a great value this amp is in terms of the sound quality and sheer versatility. The ability to select from among three realistic-sounding amp model simulations, three gain characteristic settings and three speaker configurations gives you 21 different basic tonal possibilities. Then, the 99 different effects combinations you can dial in on top of that give you nearly infinite variability, from screaming distortion to pristine wide stereo imaging and everything in between. The amp definitely shines best on the more distorted, screaming tube sound end of the spectrum (setting the gain selector to hi-gain or hot and kicking up the drive) but I find the clean settings pretty good as well; it just takes a little more tweaking.

way too quiet clean tone

By Onur

from Hummelstown, PA

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

This amp is loud only with drive/distortion on. Clean tone sounds pretty clean but it does not get any louder than my 15W solid state amp. I was looking for a loud amp that I would use under clean settings with an added distortion pedal. This amp was not the amp for me because it was way too quiet. Any other setting on the amp to make it louder resulted in a distorted sound (Due to Hi Gain). I returned it within 3 days and got the Fender 212R which gets ridicilously loud with a superbly clean sound.

Its a great start

By tjsweet

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

First of all there are many features but most of them (80% of it) you end up not using. You can get lots of sounds out of it. It takes a while to find sound you like, but you can usually get there. Good EQ. A few really good clean tones and a couple drive sounds can be made. Great for its price, really, but I dont mean to live with it for the rest of my life. Sounds real good with humbukers but I use a strat, so my freind with a ESP gets a real good sound. You will not regret it if you buy it.

Decent deal, bad luck.

By Jandrin

from Michigan

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

My band mate owns this very amplifier and so I went out to purchase one for myself so we could match sounds on a myriad of songs we both play guitars on. Thus far, my experience with Behringer had been very pleasant and I was suprised by the high quality gear they provide to musicians at a fraction of the cost of other items on the market. My band mate has enjoyed his amp and PA speakers from Behringer for around 2 years now and he has yet to encounter a true issue with them. I however, found that within my first week of ownership, my amp had already had enough problems for me to have to send it back to recieve a new one all together. Hopefully, my experience was an isolated incident, as I have been involved with multiple Behringer products now. I look forward to trying out my new MIDI Foot controller with it as well once it returns to me! Baby come back. . . . .

Great Introduction To Modeling Technology

By mechudash

from Greenville, SC

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

I bought this amp a little over a year ago at Guitar Center and I must say that I am still impressed with it. This is probably the best bang-for-your-buck introduction to modeling technology available today. The sheer variety of tones you can squeeze out of this thing has to be heard to be believed. If you like fooling around with pedals and outboard gear this amp is definitely for you....connectivity options abound on the back panel. If you're looking for a plethora of both tonal and connection choices, you cannot live without this amp....and at this unbeatable price you won't have to!

Quality Sound for the Guitarist on a Budget

By Chris

from Dallas, TX

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

Not only does this amp have a great sounding distortion, but it's loud! The 12" speakers will shake a building and rattle windows. On top of that it has an excelent array of digital effects and everything is footswitchable, a must have for gigs. The overall tonal quality blew me away when I first tried it out. This amp is excelent, especially for the price.

Loud Amp

By Josh

from Anoka, MN

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

I don't own this amp, but I use it almost every day at my friend's house. The analog models are like a distortion pedal all by themselves. You can make it clean or very distorted. Some of the effects aren't very good, but other ones are great. The footswitch is a great accessory to this amp. It is very loud. We have the volume turned up at about 6 and we can hear it through closed windows outside.
