Buy it, you won't be sorry

By Nick Ewing

from El Cajon,CA

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXR1800H Bass Amplifier Head:

I heard bad things about Behringer, but personally have never had an issue. I currenlty own a v-ampire guitar combo and have been impressed by its amazing sounds. I prefer to buy Behringer products because they are the best bang for the buck. I bought this bass head in a pinch because my old peavy mark iii was in the shop getting fixed. Turns out the peavy needed more $$$ in repairs than I was willing to spend. So, I picked up a 4x10 trace elliot bass cab from a professional musician. Tested the cab with my head at the sellers home and he was impressed by the sound this thing put out. Said he would never have expected the head to sound that good. (Note: He was using a trace elliot 600w head and this little amp sounded just as crisp and clean as his pro gear) I've been playing with it for almost a month now and can say its a great head and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap bass head that sounds awesome. Lots of adjustment for tone. The effects and superbass are kinda cool, but I only play live with it on channel 1 with no issues. Plenty of power to play live with drums. Only gripe is I wish it had a second speaker connection to power another cab. But for the price, you can't be too picky. Overall, great amp for the money. Good job Behringer. Definitely would purchase again.

Pretty Nice Amp

By Austin

from Kaukauna, WI

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXR1800H Bass Amplifier Head:

This amp has a suprisingly nice tone to it. Great for practicing or playing a small gig. The cons are that when you turn the "Ultrabass" you get this weird delay that comes through after you hit each note, which get s annoying after a while. Also it could use a little more power, but over all a pretty nice amp for the price. 7/10 overall

Funky

By B. Kenny

from East Orange, NJ

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXR1800H Bass Amplifier Head:

Ive had this amp for 3 months and it rocks! I was impressed by the lightweight design and the graphic eq. What really got me is how warm this amp sounds for a solid state amp and it can "run with the big boys". The footswitch does come in handy and the ultrabass is handy for when I get Funky with the Praise! I would recommend this as an extra head or if you are not doing any stadiums, this is great for your arsenal..

Surprisingly good amp

By John Bender

from Moreno Valley, CA

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXR1800H Bass Amplifier Head:

I got this head as a backup to a big-name brand amp that was unreliable. Now this is my main amp, and the other one is in the repair shop. I play upright and electric bass and this (with a 15" speaker cab) sounds great. The tone controls are very responsive and the amp has lots of power, even when I played with a five-piece rock band at an outdoor festival. The line out is great for hooking into PAs, and the fan keeps the amp very cool -- key for hot Southern California. Only drawback is you can hear the fan running when you're playing at low volume, but when I gig, I couldn't hear it over the other musicians. The ultrabass switch makes a room really rumble. Fun, but not sure when I'd use it on a gig. It's solidly built, too. My roadie dropped it on the sidewalk. It marred the plastic case, but the amp still works perfectly.

My first Gig Rig

By David Timmons

from Portage IN

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXR1800H Bass Amplifier Head:

I bought this amp and the bb410 cab as my first gigging bass rig. The balanced output makes it easy to plug into a pa system. I also love the the 1/4" out can be used to keep a tuner in use throughout a session, or gig. Two channels, one clean and one dirty with a shape filter gives me a wide array of tones. Just when I thought I heard it all, I hit the ultrabass function and gained another octive to my tone... wow! For the price, this German engineered head is full of options. I only wish it had a little more power...the cab matched with it is rated for a lot more. It is true that you get what you pay for... but with this head, you get a lot for the money!
