Decent for practice, not loud enough to gig

By Chris

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

i use it to practice for a pop-punk band. not as loud as i want it to be, but what do u expect for a clearance item at $130, but yeah, great black friday steal for what it is. The eq's are pretty good, the 2nd channel with the gain is, interesting, don't know if i'll ever use it. distortion sounds muddy on my unit. Ultrabass, interesting as well. From what it sounds, when turned on, add harmonies to what you are playing. I recorded with it recently by micing it and it sounded good. I even had a jam session with it recently turned up to about 7 on the main. I played for 2 hours straight and the electronics got HOT i recently bought a 3" fan and secured it to the rear vent, problem solved. I occasionally run my electric acoustic through it for fun, WOW it sounds amazing i gave it 4 stars cuz theres no line out, the sound is alright and the features aren't amazing but this amp will give you variety. If you're thinking of a practice/gigging amp, look at ampeg or the fender rumbles, as long as it has a line out and gives you more support at the bottom end. This amp dosen't have a hiss like the ampeg combos, but has more eq features. The ampegs can fill a room with deep, full sound tho. This is strictly an entry-level practice amp.

Not pleased with this amp

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I have had this unit for 40 days and it fried during rehearsal . The amp seemed like a great deal at the time ,nice features for the money but the sound is not that accurate and dont be fooled by the wattage . The drummer easily over powers this amp and he is not that loud of a player .A hartke amp of equal power was used at the next get together and at 50% power it blew everyone away . spend a few extra dollars and get the Hartke .

A great practice amp

By Rockercarl

from Greenville, SC

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

The 900A is a great practiice amp. It has plenty of power for small rooms, a 7 band equalizer, a 12 inch speaker and rocks back to a monitor position. The price is excellent for a 90 watt amp. I like the way it sounds, plus at about 40 lbs. it is easy to carry.

Keep Looking

By Big Daddy

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

This amp was very disappointing. I bought it to use as a practice/jam amp, but it just doesn't have the tone or volumn to hold its own. It's rated at 90 watts, but this is way short of any 90 watt amp I have ever played. I really don't see a practicle use for the ultrabass feature, and the 7 band eq, really isn't that good of a feature to have either. Save your money on this one, and try another brand. You'll be glad you did.

Disapointing

By ramlax13

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

All I can say is that this amp is very disapointing. Reading the specs on this thing online got me really excited. When I went to guitar center to test it out, I was extremely let down. First off, the amp is not loud at all. It says 90 watts, but compared to the 100 watt fender rumble, this thing is nothing. I had the volume maxed out in the store and no one even noticed I was playing. The eq is a nice idea, but unfortunately the amp isn't adequate enough to take full advantage of it. Their is no real bass rumble you would expect from a 90 watt amp. I guess its what you get for the price, but it really isn't worth it. I got a used rumble 100 and let me tell you it is so much better. Save your money, get a better amp, this one just doesn't cut it.
