The first time I saw this on the internet I was like, "OH MY GOD!" I was amazed by all the channels, EQ and CD in. It's hardcore, but there's only one problem. It doesn't have an output to another amp. That's the only bad thing. I don't know about everyone else, but I use it on stage and it still sounds great after 6 gigs locally, 15 gigs nationally, and don't forget the 605 practices. It's just an amazing amp.

I've had this for 3 years. A few weeks ago I got my first Warwick bass. Put the battery in the Warwick, plugged it in, and plucked the E string. I almost killed the Behringer. Didn't kill it but learned a lesson. This little amp is fine for a passive bass, but don't expect it to survive a good active one.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

This was my first bass amp and served me very well for 5 years of heavy playing. For practicing at home or if you're just starting out and on a budget, I'd recommend it. sound quality is very nice all the way up until medium-high volume where the speaker tends to start getting a bit fuzzy and poppy. the adjustable EQ is a very nice feature, very responsive and really does shape your sound. I actually did mic this thing up and play a few small gigs with it and if you have to, it really doesn't sound bad at all. though the built in distortion channel leaves alot to be desired. which brings me to my next, and only other gripe with this amp: I got an EHX bass bigmuff pi to try and get better distortion out of it, and the speaker on this thing doesn't take too kindly to it. it just sounds too fuzzy. once i upgraded to a much larger amp, the bigmuff pedal sounded alot better. tho other pedals like chorus and flanger will do just fine through here. overall, I do recommend it as a home, practice, or monitor amp because its got great sound quality for low to medium volume settings. but if you want something to gig with or run alot of effects through, I would recommend something alot bigger and beefier.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

Great for practice or lower volume live gig. The FBQ button and second channel, to me, are a waste of space. I'm old school though and just need volume and tone, which the 5 band eq works fine for. I'm happy with my purchase!

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

I was amazed at the sound from this little amp, crisp, clean and deep and i play a 5 sring! i bought this as a practice amp and it is great for just that. Love the fact i can listen with mp3 thru the cd jacks and Momma loves the headphone jacks for when I get the urge at 2 am to practce.

I doubt seriously it would handle band practice, but I haven't tried as I tend to push pretty hard and have equipment to handle that, but if you are looking for an amp with a small footprint to practice anywhere around the pad, this is it!

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

Before you purchase this amp, ask yourself what are you going to use it for. If it is for recording only, or just playing in the house, then it is a great deal. The sound quality is pretty good, and it gives you the means to change your sound from deep bass to more of a higher sound. For the price, you can't beat it if your using it to perform in a small way. However, if your wanting to play any type of venue such as Church, Club, Party, Guitar amps rated 100 watts, then don't buy this amp. This is not a loud blasting bass that will rock the world, but it does well if your playing is only for recording, and small things of that nature. My suggestion for those of you who want a gigging amp at a decent price, and quality made. An amp that has stood the test of time for more than 40 years. PURCHASE THE AMPEG BA15. The BA15 is the best sounding amp on the market, if you need more power, move up to a bigger Ampeg. If you don't need a real loud bass sound, then then the BXL450 is a great purchase.

        This amp kicks

        By Henry Porvaznik

        from Mays Landing, NJ

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

I use an Acoustic brand B100 amp when I perform. I bought this Behringer 45 watt amp for double duty as both a practice bass amp at home and as an electric piano amp at my large church. It exceeds my expectations completely. It plays loud and clear on the clean channel and the second channel offers great sound flexibility using the gain and the so-called shape filter knob. The bass sound can get very punchy if you want it to. The built-in 5 channel equalizer is great for getting just the right sound on the piano. The amp is light weight and easy to use and the control panel buttons are laid out well. I do not have a problem with button placement as another reviewer has suggested. This is a GREAT amp at a great price.

        Nce practice amp

        By Robert Bartholomew

        from small town USA

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

If you are looking for a good practice amp or something to use in small intimate venues then this is a good amp. I bought this amp to use for church, but after a year and a half I have to admit it is too small for my needs. My church will hold 300-400 people and I have this amp cranked so I can be heard. I still wish I had more volume, so consequently I am looking for a new amp. Now don't get me wrong, I plan on keeping this amp and using it at home for practice so I don't have to lug my new larger HEAVIER amp back and forth.
Nice simple controls that are easy to use.
Just your average quality for sound equipment, not horrible but not great either.
A good value for what you get.

try it before you buy it

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL450 45W 1x10" Bass Combo:

i got this amp some time ago (about a year ago) and now i know i really should not have got this amp now its not the right thing for me. it does not sound good at all (but could be good for you. but i really do not like it) it really does not sound like a 45w amp and if you play a 5 string bass or a 4 string in drop C just forget this amp with only having a 1x10. so to sum it up if you just started playing it could be good for you but if you have the $ i would got something else. (try it before you buy it)
