This amp has 180 watts of power and it is very loud. The built in EQ works great, the effects loop is awesome (if you are using pedals), the CD player plug-in and headphone jack really comes in handy when playing at night or whenever you don't want to disturb your neibors. The sound on this amp is 1st rate. The box itself is normal size for an amp that is about 200 watts (22.5" H x 20.25" W x 12.25" D), it is pretty heavy though(60 lbs.). The BX1800 is a great amp for jamming at home or in the yard, it's excellent for the beginner to intermediate bass player. For the price you just can't go wrong. Be careful, it will knock the pictures off the wall!

Okayyyy

Its okay. I was expecting a little more. It gets pretty distorted when loud. I dont think I could play a show with it. Pretty much average :)

Very loud for the money.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

This combo can keep up with my two guitarists couple hundred watt stacks with a master volume of four. And drown them out with a master volume of six-seven. Turn it up all the way and shake the house,(with a risk of blowing the speasker.) I've had it for about a year now, and have had absolutely zero problems with it. It works perfectly fine for small venues without professional sound, and works even better with pro. sound thanks to the DI out, which happens to be very helpful. The only two things that I can say to the negative effect, is one: it is heavy. I'd recommend putting casters on it, due to the fact that it is as heavy, if not heavier than my guitarists' big 4x10 stacks with the head. And two: it could use a better EQ range. It's amazing for starting out, but if you want to have complete control over your sound, I would acquire a multi-effect proccessor. Two small things, compared to a mass of amazing qualities. To sum it all up, buy it. If you're on a tight budget, this amp will serve you for years to come.

Great beginner/intermediate amp

By Mike

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

Had this amp now for 7 years. Never had an issue. Have played my iPod through it, used the headphones and all other functions without any problems. A bit heavy to lug around but works great. Tweeter is nice to have for highs. Mix any decent pedal with this amp and you have a great sounding amp.

Great Amp

By Bombdigg

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

This amp is great. It gets pretty loud, and with no distortion of your signal. Whether you need the low end growl while fingering, or the high end while using a pick or slapping, all you need to do is dial it in. The XLR out is also awesome.

GREAT BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!

By Joe

from Tampa, FL

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

What else can you ask for? Loud enough to keep up with my guitarist's 100W combo in practice and small to medium gigs, XLR DI to go into the house system in larger venues. This really is a do it all combo on a miser's budget. I haven't had any problems in the 2 years I've lugged it around. I compared others when I bought it, for the price, nobody can touch it. Better than you'd expect.

Good for the price

By Jeff

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

It's a good starter amp. Has enough sound to be heard over drums and is great for practice but for gigs it's just not loud enough to be heard well.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

I used this amp for a small gig for my school and this amp drowned out everyone in my band. This amp is plenty loud and has a very good sound. I use both an ibanez for punk and metal and a fender jazz for funk and slap and the sound amazes me.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

So I just got this amp a couple of days ago. I was mad stoked and loved it at first, It does have an okay/Pretty good sound to it. When its turned down low it has very nice tone. But when it gets louder the sound gets a little whack. I would prolly only give it like a 3 and a half stars actually. The shape effect is very, very nice though. And the EQ dosent have a very large range. Its a very average amp nothing special, Nothing all that bad. =D

The Perfect Amp

By Hero's Bassist

from SLC

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BX1800 Bass Combo 180W:

Great amp! The first thing I noticed about this amp, is that it was cheap. The next thing I noticed is that it was 180W. So I looked through the reveiws and thought it would be a good investment. I was right! I didn't know how good the sound quality was persinaly. But it is great! It has just about everything.
