I do podcasts and have been burning them onto CD prior to uploading to the hosting website and down to iTunes, but music CDR's have an 80 minute limit. I'm not ready to spend the money on Traktor gear, so this seemed to be a good solution. Setup goes from Pioneer CDJ's to Pioneer DJM mixer, out to the Behringer control, then into Macbook. Once I looked at the short instruction manual and figured out which jacks the RCA cables went in, it was a breeze to use with Audacity software.
This is a great product. I bought it so I could record my DJ mixes in GarageBand instead of just using Serato. The only issue I have with the product is that it says it comes with free software and it doesn't, Whatever kind of software it supposed to come with you don't need. This interface is plug and play,Other than that it is a great product.
This product is put together very well. I would definitely suggest that you use this with a analog mixer with more than 5 mic inputs. This interface picks up alot of hiss....but it onlii picks up what you want it to record. I am a drummer and when I'm recording I have a 2 monitors like 3-4 feet away and they are loud but the interface onlii picked up the sound a little. Also do not use the recording software that comes with it because its atrocious!!!!!!
Basically acting as a sound card with lots of bells and whistles, the USB interface is simple to use, truly low latency and excellent sound quality. I purchased the interface because the normal microphone input to my laptop was noisy and I didn't like having to filter out the noise after the recording was made. The Behringer USB interface has no detectable noise and the sampling rate produces excellent sound quality. The accompanying software is an excellent bargain and provides most any imaginable tool for music creation and recording. Overall, top quality and superb value for the dollar.
Bought mine to convert line level output from my Mini-Disc to USB (iTunes library). With XP, the drivers installed automatically and worked without restarting. I connected the Toslink output to my Amphony wireless headphone input to monitor and it sounds clean and clear. I'm monitoring the audio digitally as its recording into QuickTime Pro at the same time. After I get done dubbing over all 75 mini-discs, selling the transport and discs will more than pay for the transfer hardware.
I plugged it in, installed the driver, and started recording right away. It is an inexpensive audio interface that gets the job done. There are not any fancy features, the included software is nothing great but gets the job the done. If you need a quick, cheap interface to record with, this works.
I purchased Behringer's U-Control UCA222 USB Audio Interface to convert our church's audio cassettes to CDs. The USB interface was perfect for plugging into the front of the computer; the computer quickly installed the correct drivers. I had to purchase a stero 1/8 inch to dual RCA cable. Then, using Audacity software, it comes with the purchase of the UCA222, I was able to convert several cassette tapes into CDs. You can monitor the audio with the headphone jack too. That's it really helpful. It does what it needs to do at a reasonable price.
The device itself would be great if, they would provide decent software. I was never able to install it properly, and the customer support is nonexistant. The virtual instruments are useless, and there are no tracks to record to. it was a total waste of money!
