Overview

Reverb emulates the natural echo that occurs because of an environment's acoustics. Think of how your guitar would sound if you plucked a note while standing in a big empty gymnasium-the RV400 can produce that sound, even if you're playing in your bedroom!

The RV600 contains BEHRINGER's Real Sound Modeling (RSM) processor and DSP technology, giving it the incredible power to make your guitar sound like you're playing in a cave, a cathedral, or even the outer reaches of the cosmos. With the RV600, putting studio-caliber reverb into your signal chain is easier than ever before.

Just twist the dedicated dial to select dead-on modeling of Ducking, Space, Cave, Tile, Echo, vintage '63 Spring, Spring, Plate, Room, Chamber and Hall reverbs. Tweak the dedicated Mix, Decay, Time and Tone controls along with the Trails On/Off switch to create reverb that is resonant, abrupt, or just plain otherworldly! The brilliant blue LED tells you when it's working while the top-quality on/off switch preserves the signal integrity in bypass mode. You can power this stomp box with a 9V battery or a DC power supply (not included).

Why settle for one species of reverb? Plug into the RV600 and bring the whole evolutionary tract along for the ride.

Features
  • The ultimate Reverb Modeler that delivers the whole history from classic spring reverbs to high-end studio reverbs”at the touch of a footswitch
  • Real Sound Modeling (RSM) combines state-of-the-art DSP technology with sophisticated algorithms to emulate real acoustic environments
  • Experience any reverbs from Spring, Plate, Room, Hall, Ducking, Echo to Space sounds that you have never heard before
  • Dedicated Mix, Decay, Time, Type, Tone and Trails controls for awesome sound shaping

  • Runs on 9V battery or the BEHRINGER PSU-SB DC power supply (not included)

Got this to add ambiance to my 1978 PAiA model 1551 Stringz n Things analog string synthesizer. I needed a compact, affordable reverb that had a wide range of settings and stereo input/output capability, since my PAiA is equipped with the optional 1551 sterero output board.

The RV600 was the only option I found meeting all those criteria. It's small enough to fit on the shelf that is in front of the keyboard on the PAiA, has two truly discrete channels and lets one set the unit to provide anything from tight slapback reverb to Grand-Canyon like deeply extended resonance. I also like the fact it lets you tweak the tone of the output, which is critical when using a chorus based instrument like the PAiA.

I don't have short battery life issues with the RV600, since I power it with a feed from from a small, 5 output "octopus" style 9v wall wart I got on eBay, which also powers a NADY MM-141 mini mixer that lets me adjust the balance of the two final outputs from the RV600.

The worst thing I can say about the RV600 is the interaction between the decay and time adjustments is very complex, so it can take time to learn how set this unit to get the precise type of reverb you are looking for. Tiny changes to the Decay setting have a big impact on the sound; in particular, when setting the RV600 to emulate larger spaces (such as "Hall" or "Space") if you start to get "ringing" or if the repeats are too extended, the way to fix that is not to change the decay but instead slowly tweak the time setting.

The only other negative -- which is more about my whole rig than the RV600 -- is using this item in a two channel system does require a rat's nest of cables: two channels of keyboard out to a stereo Ernie Ball volume pedal, then two out of that to the RV600, then two out of that to the NAD MM-141, which then sends the final mix to two separate amps. I also have two cables that go to another Ernie Ball mono volume pedal, which I use to control the keyboard sustain.

Playing for about 12 years now, and just starting to explore reverb pedals due to a recent amp of mine not having any built in. This pedal has lots of options, but none of them are particularly good - they're not BAD, per se, but neither are they anything worth writing home about. Yeah, it will add some ambient thickness to your sounds, but it's nothing like a simple reverb build into a decent amp; no amount of tweaking could make this sound like an organic part of my tone. It all sounded like a post-production afterthought to my fundamental tone instead of part of it. A fine option if you're on a very limited budget and can begrudge that kind of sound, though.

Comments about Behringer RV600 Reverb Machine Modeling Effects Pedal:

Put the Behringer jokes aside, this is an excellent pedal. Great variety of effects and very good sound. No signal path noise from this pedal. I would have given it 5 stars if the construction was more durable. A solid metal case and upgraded hardware would make this a hard to beat pedal and would probably still be a great value.

Comments about Behringer RV600 Reverb Machine Modeling Effects Pedal:

Put the Behringer jokes aside. This pedal is versatile and does its job very well at an affordable price. If you don't need a pedal that can withstand rough conditions (home use, for example), you should definitely consider this one. I have no pedal noise in my signal path and can't rave enough about the range of reverb options this pedal provides. Its a winner. I would give it 5 stars if it was built more substantially.

Comments about Behringer RV600 Reverb Machine Modeling Effects Pedal:

I can say, best buy for your money but why would I do that?!?! This Effects Pedal sounds great! Just got mine today and I could not believe how full it made my Hughes and Kettner Tube Meister 18 sound. Of course as you know, the head for some strange reason has no reverb. Shame on Hughes and Kettner for that but it was an easy fix. I like RV600 Reverb Machine and yes if it were to break I would buy another one.

Comments about Behringer RV600 Reverb Machine Modeling Effects Pedal:

Amazing for playing worship music!! It's not an Eventide H9, but for the price its unbeatable. The space reverb is great for ambient swells, but also the '63 spring reverb is awesome for most playing styles. This thing has everything you need in a reverb pedal. If you're a millionaire that likes complex multi effect pedals get the H9, if not then get this amazing little pedal.

Simple put this unit is unuseable due to the loud hiss it put out even when not on. it also accentuates noise from any other pedal.

Comments about Behringer RV600 Reverb Machine Modeling Effects Pedal:

I have wanted to add a shimmer effect to my sound since the first time I heard it, but couldn't afford to buy a high end pedal for the sake of one effect. The RV-600 has an awesome shimmer effect (and many other terrific reverbs) for under $50.00. It's a blast to use and adds a nice warmth. The only draw back is I have to unplug the input jack when not in use to save the battery. A pedal board supply will eliminate that problem in the future.
