Overview

The BEHRINGER MS16 is a compact 2-way stereo speaker system for home studio or multimedia applications and instrument or vocal monitoring.

2 high-power amplifiers drive the 4'' woofers and the high-resolution tweeters. The front-mounted volume control and individual bass and treble controls make accurate sound adjustments a breeze.

2 stereo line inputs (RCA and 1/8'' TRS) allow simultaneous use of 2 stereo sources, so you can play back CDs, MDs or MP3s and use an electric guitar/keyboard at the same time. In addition, the 1/4'' TRS microphone input lets you mix vocals with a stereo track.

Magnetic shielding and compact size make these speakers perfect for placement near video monitors or computer displays.

  • Powerful 4" woofers and high-resolution tweeters powered by 2 - 8 watt amplifiers

great speakers for the price

By james hennigan

from Harlingen Texas

bought these speakers over a year ago and ive dropped them, hit them, and ive even ripped a cord straight out of my laptop leaving the jack still plugged into the port. (easily replaceable) even after all of this mistreatment these speakers still go as loud as they did as when i first bought them. the quality of the sound has become a little distorted in my left speaker but im sure if i hadnt dropped it so many times (about 6 times now) it would sound just fine. its also barely noticeable unless played very loud and i go above the mid bass level. which brings me to my next issue these speakers have 3 controls on them basically for the lows highs and volume. at first i thought this would be great. i could really tune my speakers to bring the best out in the music i listen to and make but unfortunately this was not the case. it does help me get a really great quality but realistically, not all speakers will be set to the same settings as mine. so ive had mixed feedback telling me the equalization is a little strange in my music. for example i created a song with heavy bass and i thought it sounded excellent. (keep in mind the lows on my speakers where set very high) and after i had released the song i recieved tons of feedback saying it needed more bass. and when i switched speakers they where right. these behringers had given me an inaccurate hearing of my music. this is really the only drawback i can find with these speakers. they are great for playing live since you can set them up to the perfect settings but to create music, you might want to go with a different set a speakers. a set i have yet to find so unfortunately i cannot offer any advice beyond this point, but personally i believe a set of good speakers with a good subwoofer would be just great. and unfortunately these speakers do not have a subwoofer port or have any way of adding a sub. i would normally give this a 3/5 for recording and producing but for playing and live mixing at a house party or something. its definitely a 5/5

Made all the difference...

By John Reagan

from Nashville, TN

I got these based on other good reviews for my small home demo recording set up. I've had these for several weeks now and could not be more pleased. You can't master through headphones, you have to have some decent monitors and these more than fit the bill for what i'm doing. Sure, studio monitors with a higher price tag might be better but these suit my needs for acoustic home demos very well and have made a big difference in how my finished home demos. They look nice and don't take up much space on my desk either. They're easy to hook up and if you're on a budget I highly recommend these.

Good depending on what you want out of them.

By Ryan Taylor

from Monongahela, Pa

Ok first off these sounds amazing, im not gonna lie. But they just dont have the bass i really wanted. If your just wanting good speakers that sound amazing then these are perfect, but if your like me and want more bass then id buy the ms20 or ms40.

nice for cheap

By chris

very nice sound for a low price. only thing i didnt like is with my recorder it takes like guitar cord ends (bigger jack than say headphones) so i had to buy an adapter so i could run the speakers to my digital recorder.

WOW.......

By MICHAEL

from DALLAS, TX

didnt expect much out of these BUT; they are better than what i thought... clear sound, well built and with the bass turned up to full power you can get a little bass that you can feel out of them.. not to much distortion in them either.. i use these on my gaming computer and i am now going to get the B2092A 360 watt sub to complement them...

Always Reliable Company

By Grant Ames

from Greenville, NY

Behringer has always been my choice for my small recording studio. It is compact and ready to use out of the box. This newly purchased MS16 Active Personal Monitor System is well built, attractive and fits in exactly where needed. You will be surprised at the sound(s) that this system produces. Also, a great choice for computer speakers where space is a consideration. I was extremly pleased by the Guitar Center's accurate description of this product, as well as their service.
