I was looking for an interface to plug into my computer, but I found this. It was also cheaper, and a great subsitute for the interface. I just bought myself a RCA to 3.5 cable, and plugged it into my microphone section into my computer. Worked great, and I recorded both vocals and guitar into this thing. Saved me money, instead of having to get an interface.

This mixer is fairly good. Its quality is not the best, but if you are beginner it will get you through. I own one of these, and i own one of the 16 channels as well. The fact that it has two mic inputs is very nice, and its rugged steal design makes it like a tank. however the sound quality comes out not as great as it looks. It is a good device for beginners, and if you are a fairly experienced musician looking forward to grow in music, this might not be the best mixer for you. I would suggest this to people who just want to mess around at home, jam with friends etc., definitely not something i would use live.

Cheap price...and build quality.

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

I bought one of these a while back for one purpose - to run a pair of in-ear monitors for my band's drummer, so he could mix in a monitor feed and his metronome. For $39, you can't beat this little gadget, except for one thing - they break. I'm on my third unit, and while they're covered under warranty, having something like this go out during a gig isn't cool at all. That being said, maybe I've just been unlucky. The third one has been going fine for over 6 months now. For the price, though...nothing else even comes close to touching the value, if you can get one that works consistently.

Great for that garage band you were thinking about

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

The preamp really does a good job - this is a mixer fit for your beginning band's coffehouse gigs. Works fine and is faithful - gave mine away to some friends a couple years ago and it's still working for them. 5+ years on the thing... a great buy

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

I bought this for testing my home theater speakers. I only use a few of the features of this mixer, but it's rock solid. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

Ok if you can get one that works...

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

I had to take the UB802 back and exchange it for another one because whaen I got the first one home it was a dud. The first channel didnt work at all and there was a huge hum no matter how I connected it. When I took it back to my local guitar center the salesman said that that was not the first bad behringer they had seen to say the least. The new one works great though. I use it mostly as a pre-amp for recording which (In my opinion) is the main reason for anyone to own one.

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

I got this board about 5 months ago, looking for something cheap to use as a mixer for recording use. It worked ok for a while, but this past week, it died. All I hear now when I lpay my guitar thru it is a bunch of crackling. I would not reccomend this board. Spen a little bit more money and get something with more quality.

Cheap Little Mixer

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

The Behringer UB802 is a great little mixer for a low cost. I've used mine regularly for about a year now for my in-ear monitor mix without any problems. I'm quite careful with my equipment though. I also use another UB802 (not mine) on a regular basis that has taken a bit more abuse and the XLR jacks or underlying connections seem to be slightly loose, which is problematic. I may open it up and try to repair it myself sometime. The quality of these mixers don't match up to the quality of higher end mixers, but then again the price doesn't get anywhere close either! The proprietary power is also a slight annoyance, but I can live with that. Bottom line, a few tiny issues that you won't really notice that much on an otherwise great little mixer for a difference in your pocketbook that you *will* notice!

Great for home recording!

By epilespaul101

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

My friend just recently left for school, and gave me this mixer. I have to say it is absolutely perfect, and the price was right! My band uses it a lot for recording drums, and we use it as a pre amp for vocals and the guitars. It is a very easy item to use, and produces exceptional sound. Buy it, you will get your money's worth.

Trashy but cheap mixer

By stephen727

from Urbana, IL

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

I originally got this mixer to mix keys, guitar, and vocals, and output them on tiny computer speakers, and for that purpose, this mixer served me well. However, as the number of inputs I had grew, I had to start abusing other inputs (like using the aux return and tape inputs for various computer inputs). The straw that broke the camel's back was picking up a pair of decent monitors; the noise that this mixer puts out is truely unreal. Of course, you can't beat the price.

Great little mixer!

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

I've had this mixer for about a year now, and I absolutely love it. It's great for routing signals in a smaller environment like a bedroom studio, or a solo gig. It has 48v phantom power for condenser mikes and quite a bit of power in it's "invisible" mic preamps. I use it to record guitar and vocals into the sound card of my computer and my recordings are always nice, hot and noise free. For a small mixer, it has great I/O options: You can hook up a microphone, mic or line level instrument and it can amplify and mix all of these signals to it's main stereo Left and Right outputs, headphone output or RCA output. I bought this for $50 and thought it was a good deal. Now that it's under $30 there really is no reason not to get it.

Quality Ok, But Great Value

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

The sound that comes out of this mixer is decent, but presumably, you get what you pay for. For a starter or someone who needs only a few inputs, no bells and whistles, this is a great place to start. If you want more, look elsewhere. However, for the price, this mixer can't be beat! I use it to mix a couple mics, effects, and for recording on my computer. It's great for that purpose.

Can't beat it for the price

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

The fact that you can even get a brand new 8 channel mixer in this price range is amazing. Most phantom power boxes cost as much as this unit. With this unit you get phantom power and all of the functions on a mixer (EQ, preamps, headphone out, etc.)This is a must for anyone on a budget. The quality is not going to be up there with a Mackie ot Allen and Heath unit. However, it actually performs pretty well. I have had mine for about 2.5 years and have never had a problem. For the features on this unit it should easily cost 3 times as much.

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

It is an awsome mixer for the price. I just hook it up to my practice amp as a pre amp and it works great.I haven't hade any problems with it so far. I gave th features a 4.5 because that's about the best you will get feture wise and quality wise. The only thing I don't like is It dosn't have a poiwer switch. If its plugged in its on.

would pay twice as much!

By soundman

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

I would pay 2x the price for a mixer with features like those on the Behringer UB802. It comes with 2 mic inputs with phantom power. It has two stereo input channels. What I like is that all the channels have eqs and pan/bal knobs. There is also an aux send/return for external effects which is always a plus. Tape in/out even gives this mixer recording possibilities! The only thing missing on this mixer would be a power switch. Other than that, it's great!

Great for Starters

By Nick Sentowski

from Appleton, WI

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

The Behringer Eurorack UB802 is a great mixer. I run a phantom power MXL 990 condenser microphone with prestine quality. The mic itself is a bit muddy, but the UB802 is able to clean up with generous EQ options. The mixer is light, portable, and simple to set up with multiple outs. I can take it from my karaoke rack to my PC-fueled recording studio in minutes. Being a traveling DJ requires light, easy to replace components. In karaoke bars, accidents happen, and replacing equipment can get quite costly, but this mixer fits the bill perfectly!

Excellent price and a handy unit.

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

The Behringer Eurorack UB802 is a great mixer at a wonderful price. I bought this originally as a way to run my guitar and mp3 player into a pair of headphones so I could practice with it. You'll need an adaptor if you want to do that, but there are several other uses I have found for it. I tried running my turntable through it onto my PC when I used the line in on the soundcard and the freeware program Audacity to record old records and the EQ helped me adjust the signal so that it sounded much better. There are phantom power inputs so I can use a real microphone on some of my computer projects. This mixer is great for someone on a budget and the only limits are your imagination and selection of adaptors (make sure you pick up a selection if you order this).

superb little mixer

By bryanonbass

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

i love this little guy. It fits in my gigbag and has been used as a bass preamp to drive a poweramp, a PA mixer, a recording mixer and monitoring system. I have also used it as a mixer for having 2 basses plugged into the same amp that have very different output levels and instead of changing amp settings, I use the mixer for that. The preamps are decent sounding. These are not NEVE's but they are not junk either. Very easy to use and lightweight and small enough to fit almost anywhere. Highly recommended if you need a small portable mixer.

Awesome!

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

I have always loved Behringer stuff. I've used this unit for about 3 years now and I finally broke it. I've been throwing it in gig bags with cables and other pedals and the input gains on channels 1 & 2 died. Everything else on the board still works perfectly, I still use it at every gig, I just can't turn the gain up on the first 2 channels. I know that when the one I have finally dies I'll just go and buy another exactly the same. I use it to send 2 guitars, a loop and vocals to my monitor, my drummers monitor and the main board for my out front mix. I used to carry around a huge 16 channel Alesis board and this tiny thing does everything I need. My drummer has one for his in-ear monitors (his has a fader for the main level) and I think he keeps it on his pillow at night when he sleeps, he loves his too. How are they making this stuff for this much money? I know it's "economies of scale" but this stuff is cheep. Some people say it's a budget mixer, I disagree. It's a great mixer at a budget price.

Behringer is great...

By expiredmometum

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer:

I became interested in home recording and bought this mixer to start out. I am constantly using it and enjoy the simplicity of it. Our band also uses it when hooking up the P.A. and such. For recording, I kind of wish I had gotten a mixer with more mic inputs, but for those of you only needing to use one or two mics, this mixer works great. Highly suggested!
