Overview

The Behringer EUROLIVE B115D features a 1,000-Watt Class-D power amp, built-in wireless microphone capability and exceptional portability. Backed by SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply) technology, the high-tech alternative to heavy transformers and massive heat sinks, these loudspeakers run cool, are lightweight, and sound great.

Behringer additionally adds its wireless-ready design to the new B115D. Just plug the receiver into the dedicated wireless port on the rear panel and you have full access to two channels of stable, natural-sounding wireless connectivity.

The B115D's integrated mixer features the same ultra low-noise, high-headroom mic preamps that have made BEHRINGER mixers popular. Variable Input gain controls (with Clip LED) will have you dialing in the perfect level every time. And if you need more coverage, use the Link Output XLR connector to add more active loudspeakers.

Thanks to its trapezoidal shape, the B115D and B112D are suitable for a wide variety of applications. They can be mounted on standard speaker poles, placed vertically atop subwoofers, or even laid on their side for use as onstage monitor wedges. Their extraordinary fidelity and frequency response make them a favorite of vocalists and instrumentalists alike. Hook up is simple, requiring only a single XLR or 1/4" cable from your mixing console and power. Additional monitors can be chained together via the XLR Link Output jack on the rear panel.

The B115D active loudspeaker is ideal for both speech and music applications.

I bought one of these to augment my existing sound system for live band performance. We had been using a powered mixer and passive 15 inch cabinets... hooked this up last night before the job and, WOW, it was like we added a subwoofer to the rig, plus the extra impact of the mids and highs . . GREAT sound, exactly what we needed to give our sound more punch... And for such a low price, what a bargain at that. Only have used it once, but so far, I'm way impressed . . . .

I have owned a plethora of Behringer speakers and I am generally a huge fan of their products. For some reason this one fell short. In comparison to the 300 Watt variety, this speaker doesn't pack as much punch as it should if it is boasting 1000 Watts. I owned and extensively used a pair of the older variety which were active and had on board 300 watts of power. Those old ones were BASSY, packed an enormous punch for the wattage. I never even needed a sub when I had that pair of 15's. With this newer model, the on board amp begins clipping almost immediately after turning it up half way. What is the use of a speaker that can't even be turned up past 50% without risk of damage? On top of that the treble has massive volume compared to the low end. I saw on the specs before purchase that the 1000 Watts are supposedly split with 700 to the woofer, 300 to the horn. Well...I'm not sure what went wrong, but this woofer sounds weak in my opinion. It doesn't even have HALF that bass response that those older ones had, when the older ones were only rated at 300 Watts. I'm very confused as to why this is, as the speaker seems to operating as intended. Adjusting the EQ balance on the back of the speaker, or on the mixer doesn't help, as any adjustment to offer more bass into the mix has the speaker immediately showing the "clip" light again. I have no idea why, but where I am normally more than satisfied with Behringer speakers, I am seriously let down by this one. I understand that in most circumstances, these speakers are intended to be paired with subs anyway. That's fine, I just hardly ever use my systems in large enough environments to require subs, and up until now, haven't needed the extra push on the low end. Perhaps this is a way to force us to purchase more products? Making the low end inadequate? Who knows? I'm going to write completely positive reviews about all the great Behringer speakers I've had directly after finishing this one. Unfortunately, this model is a fail in my opinion.

Comments about Behringer Eurolive B115D 2-Way Active PA Speaker:

I bought two of these for my electronic drum set, they work great in a small venue, I have two sub bins with 18" 15", (passive) this will be more then enough power to drive the sound in larger areas and outside!.

Comments about Behringer Eurolive B115D 2-Way Active PA Speaker:

I use for small band practice as vocal PA. Good range of connectivity- 2 XLR/quarter jack ins. Competent, slightly flat tone. Probably enhanced with addition of a mixing board.

Comments about Behringer Eurolive B115D 2-Way Active PA Speaker:

The speaker itself sounds good. Useful in all kinds of ways. The the combination input is very realistic for certain small applications. Really the onlything I'm disappointed in is the inputs ar not in line with each other so you can only tilt it to one side as a stage wedge and even then that's a bit stressed for the cable. Regardless it's a cheap, very sturdy, reliable speaker that keeps on cooking. It looks better than other speakers In the pric range too. It's tight and compact. Not very light weight but still one handable. 3 of these and a subwoofer, you'll have a easy to set up awesome sounding rig that cost less than most guitars. Do it.

I have been using B215A for over 5 years for outdoor events. I added B115D as FOH speakers on poles above B1800D subs. The added power of the 115's makes this a great combo for a small performance.

Perfect Fit For Any Mobile Rig

        By Robert Rio

        from Reading, PA

Comments about Behringer Eurolive B115D 2-Way Active PA Speaker:

The B115D was a perfect fit for my mobile DJ rig. They were exactly what I was looking for in a set of powered main speakers that I matched with the B1800-D subwoofer. I use the EQ on my mixer more than the cutoff knobs on the back of the speakers so I can't speak for them too much, but the sound quality is perfect for the medium sized venues I DJ with plenty of power left-over. I use separate outputs for the mains and subwoofer so I can control the volume independently for both instead of having to use the volume on the back of the units and it really lets me fine-tune the sound to my liking on the fly. I have not had much hiss at all in these units and the sound quality rivals that of more expensive units.

Have piccolo trumpet - will travel!

1000 Watts playback of Baroque works for solo trumpet and orchestra minus the trumpet. Simply awesome, thunderous bass when played in a large church. If the client wants a change in instrumentation from strings & harpsichord to woodwinds, just dial it up on the playback device and you're golden.

This unit has handled massively large orchestal works I've thrown at it without a hickcup. The low end and head room are solid.

        Bottom Line: A great accompanyist!!
